60k combined. We're signing De Vries and put him on 20k.
Thats 2 mill saved on useless goalkeepers pr year

What stupid club do you think is going to pay either of those 30k a week?

We're still going to be paying them when they aren't here

Doni will get 30-40k a week from a club in Europe or Brazil. Brad Jones is a different matter, but I doubt we'll be paying him more than 10k a week.

We'll get a fee for Doni while Jones prob will be a free transfer

If a top Italian club won't pay 40k a week plus a fee for Aquilani what makes you think they're going to do it for a shite backup keeper?

These are more Itandje's, we're stuck paying for them til the contract is up. Signing Back up goalkeepers is a complete waste of money.

Add up what the back up keepers we've signed in the last five years plus wages. What did we get from them? Does it make much financial sense?

It makes no fucking sense at all.
I hate all our managers and their fucking penchant for rotating our wank goalies.

We just should have kept the Bulgarian or Dudek or fucking given Gulacsi or Hansen the job.
One fucking Carling cup match a year costs is about 5 million quid

Doni was on 65k a week at Roma.

Regardless of Italian clubs, there are loads of clubs on the continent or in Brazil who can pay him the wages he wants. Jones will be a Championship player.

Signing a back up gk is pointless? Well, signing shite old gk with high wages is pointless. But we need a back up, Gulasci wont do.
Itandje, Doni, Jones are all horrible transfers. Hopefully we wont make the same mistake again.

Oh, and getting a decent back up on low wages is about 1 mill pr year. You need to make that investment.
Reina out for 3 months and Martin Hansen in goal? Good luck

Erm no. You sign a good quality young keeper and you loan them out with an option to come back at a moments notice and then their wages are paid and you keep Hansen on the bench and if Reina is injured you recall the other keeper.
Youd be a shit owner.
Lets just sign and pay a million a year for a player who plays once a year!!!!11111
nahz

As others have already said, I don't agree that Gulacsi won't do. Neither BTW is Doni a poor keeper, but we do need him off the wage bill.

Sorry, but thats just a big load of bollocks.

Name some top English and European teams that have a 20 year old as a back up Gk? Cause thats what we want to be right? You NEVER know if your first Gk will get injured. We're paying 3 mill a year for two shit ones now....

No. Cant be arsed.
The club is run by fucking dickheads.
So they will go along with your way anyway.
Its pointless me expending energy saying it isnt nescessary.
Go with God young man.

I like how we used to loan Paul Jones when we had a mini keeper crisis. We should get those experienced keeper who are near the retirement age as backup.

Run by dickheads? The first clue in all this should be that every top manager runs with the same set up.
It will probably happen even if we discuss it for 50 odd pages. Better leave it as you say.

None at all. Just bring in the youth keepers.

Bilbao are desperate not to lose Amorebieta and Liverpool's enquiry has forced them to seek talks with the player's camp about a new contract.

Fernando Amorebieta is highly valued on the international market. The centre-back's performances last year have made people stand up and take note around Europe. Liverpool is one of the clubs to be most interested in the player and has made contact to get first-hand information about his contractual situation, his thoughts about moving on, and his desire to play at Anfield.

The Venezuelan international finishes his contract with Athletic in June 2013, which is why the club from the Basque Country has two options: renew his contract or sell him so that he doesn't leave for free next season. Fernando Llorente and Markel Susaeta are in a similar situation.

The footballer's ambition, as far as MARCA can tell, is to remain with Athletic. Given his current position, Amorebieta is waiting for an offer from the club's president Josu Urrutia. Bilbao has no intention of letting go of the Venezuelan international or any other players currently at the club. The club will initially refer any interested parties to the player's release clause, which is set at €35 million, although everyone knows that this can be negotiated, especially because the player's contract expires next year.

The British club, which seems to like making signings from Spain, is certain that the Venezuelan will fit into its system perfectly. Furthermore, the footballer would undoubtedly adapt. Liverpool's technical team includes various Spaniards, who remain from the time that Rafa Benítez was in charge.
