Nobody's going to buy him outright after last season. This might be a risk worth taking in order to help (a) shake him up or (b) move him on.

I'd be made up if he went fucking anywhere.

Bermuda triangle would be handy.

He just doesn't fit Rodgers needs if his formation/style continues in the same vein as at Swansea.

One of the players most likely to be on his way out of Barcelona is Ibrahim Afellay. His position is fairly well covered and he didn't get on the pitch as much as he would have liked last season, sitting most of it out injured.

As reported by various Italian media sources, Inter would be interested in signing him if Sneijder finally ends up leaving. The Italians would pay a fee of around €7-8 million, matching the offer made by the French club Lille, also interested in signing him.

Afellay isn't even prepared to listen to the French team's offer, though. If he's going to leave, he'd prefer it was to a more competitive club and it's well known that Inter has a genuine interest in the multi-talented midfielder.

Over the last few hours it has become increasingly likely that the player will move the date for his return to the Ciudad Condal forward to this coming Monday, so he can meet with Tito Vilanova and find out first-hand what the situation is. Afellay is down to return on 23rd July, since he played at the European Cup but didn't get past the group stages.

The Dutchman, who was injured for the whole season, received the all-clear to participate with his national team. Although he played well during pre-tournament friendlies, his performances dropped off during the tournament to such a degree that he ended up on the bench for the final game.

Allen is excellent at linking play in midfield, hard to make a comparison really, Xabi without the long range passing and not quite as good defensive positioning is the best I can come up with. Still a class act and made for Rodgers brand of football.

God, how I wish this is true:

I will probably get slaughtered but heard a whisper that xabi may be coming back #alonso

KHL!!!!!!!!!! I will never forgive you if he signs for those cunts.

Christian Eriksen is set to demand answers from Ajax about a move to Manchester United.

The Denmark international, 20, has been told that the Dutch champions have opened talks with two clubs ready to meet their £20million valuation.
Zenit St Petersburg are believed to have registered their interest and Eriksen wants to know whether Sir Alex Ferguson has sanctioned a rival bid.

Eriksen will speak with Marc Overmars, Ajax’s new director of football, his week to discover whether his dream of playing for United is soon to be realised.
Sources in Holland believe if United meet the £20m asking price they will get their man as Ajax attempt to balance their books.

Ferguson was glowing about Eriksen after United knocked Ajax out of the Europa League last season.

Ajax have already signed Adam Maher from AZ Alkmaar to fill the playmaker role that Erikson has excelled in as Ajax have won successive Dutch titles.
Eriksen rejected the opportunity to speak with Manchester City last summer because he had set his heart on joining either United or Barcelona.

Yay, hey Xabi, fancy taking a massive pay cut to drag your children out of the Country you want to raise them in to move to a team in the Europa League with less cash than an AIDS ridden whore and a manager that was sacked by Reading?
