Had we hired Brendan Rodgers, he'd probably go for his players first Joe Allen. Taylor as a left back possibly. The we'd go for Mata I guess.

Apparently.

I heard some journo saying that the Chinese league isn't very well supported.

Sometimes Shanghai only get 5,000.

Drogba's going to be on £200,000 a week, allegedly !

I'm way behind on this thread, but talking to a Beijing season ticket holder the other day, he says his team get 50k at a match or more if there isn't security sections blocked out. They're looking forward to Kanoute playing for them in a week or two. They'd want to be good supporters if they're looking forward to him playing for them.

But bought back to Real for 5,5 mill last season. No way is he worth 19,5mill now.

BS.

Correct - whenever I watched Madrid, he was one of the first players Mourinho bought on. He's got good pace, and plays good footy BUT he's not worth anywhere near 19.5. I'd be livid if we wasted this money on him - we can get much better.

Arsenal are close to completing a deal for Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, according to reports in France.
talksport revealed earlier this week that the Gunners were on the verge of launching a £12m bid for the France captain, who has been told he can leave Lyon by club chairman Jean-Michel Aulas.
French newspaper L’Equipe claims that the two clubs have reached an agreement, with Lyon waiting to identify a replacement for the 25-year-old before making the deal official.
Ludivine Sagna, the wife of Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna, hinted that a deal may be on the cards after writing a revealing message on her Twitter page.
"Really hope my friend Marine Lloris will come to #arsenal?," wrote Ludivine Sagna.
Lloris, 25, is rated as one of the finest goalkeepers in Europe after four impressive seasons at the Stade de Gerland.
The impending deal will provide a boost for despondent Arsenal fans, who have been rocked by the news that captainRobin Van Persie will not sign a new contract at the club.

I can't understand why Arsenal are buying Lloris, their polish goalkeeper who's name I can't spell is pretty good and they need the money in other areas of the pitch. Plus i'm not completely convinced by Lloris.

he's alright, lloris is a lot better, though i do agree they have more pressing concerns right now

I reckon Arsenal's Polish keeper is pretty decent.

I, also, cannot spell his name.

This deal makes no sense.

They'd be better off buying Speroni from Palace for about £2m (although he's 33 he has a few good years left in him and has been the best keeper in The Championship for 5 years) and using the left over money to try and finally buy a decent CB to play with Vermaelen.

He's worth about £7m. £8m tops.

Anyone else heard about the rumour I've just made up?

Apparently we have bid like £80M combined for Martinez, Eriksen and Jovetic. Rodgers said that Gylfi and Davies were smoke and mirrors, that we 'wanted AVB to get confused and buy the wrong player' so we could do our business in peace elsewhere.

When did we bid for Eriksen? I hope after Euro 2012. He should be a lot cheaper than before.

Haha yeah sadly I only think it applies the other way around though, that an unknown players prize can skyrocket if he suddenly appeared to be boss during a big tournament.

The ones who have followed Eriksen knows his worth and it will not be lowered because of his very mediocre Euros. At least not anything we'd probably notice. I think he's valued at around £20M still.

Inter wants to offload Forlan and Spurs are set to sell Rafael van der Vaart according to reports.

I know it's probably not moneyball and they are not exactly young either, but personally, I'd be tempted to give both a go.

We have seen what Forlan can do with Suarez around him and Van der Vaart would love to be our new passmaster.

...and then we'd have our very own annoying abbreviation too.

RvdF for the world.

His performances in the Euro's weren't encouraging. I still think he's a good player.
