Im not sure if the stats will back it up but Fellaini seems to win alot of the ball every time i see him play whether it be duels or second balls. He is quite a presence and not too shabby with his feet so would be a good pick up for the chavs.

I rate Fellani.

He's a booking waiting to happen and a bit of a cunt but I wouldn't be upset if we signed him.

I wonder if Martinez would even have been considered had Wigan not had that very unrepresentative late run of good results? If you wiped those away you'd have a very, very underwhelming track record.

It's Roy Hodgson all over again.

Yeah, I was thinking that myself. It seems he's just a flavour of the month.

Its not at all. It couldnt be further from the truth actually. IF he gets the job, its what 30 years difference in age, totally different approach to the game, potential to be a very good manager, plays attacking minded football, has a good record of developing younger players so far and is in fact the total opposite of Roy Hodgson.

AND, he doesnt rub his face or look like an owl.

IF it goes tits up or not, well who knows. But in terms of being Roy Hodgson again you're extremely far from the truth.

Would he buy Poulsen, Jones, Konchesky. Highely fucking doubtful.

RAY WILKINS has emerged as a surprise candidate to become the new West Brom boss.

The former Chelsea assistant has reportedly held talks with the Baggies over taking charge at The Hawthorns.

The Midlands side are currently without a manager after former boss Roy Hodgson left to take the England job.

West Brom are also thought to have held discussions with ex-Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri, who was sacked by Inter Milan in March.

But it appears that West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace is ready to hand Wilkins his first senior management role.

The 55-year-old was previously assistant first team coach under both Luiz Felipe Scolari and Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea.

He departed the club in bizarre circumstances when he was told that his contract at Stamford Bridge would not be renewed and that he was to leave with immediate effect in November 2010.

Wilkins' exit coincided with a poor run of form for Chelsea, with many fans linking the effect of the popular staff member's departure on their side's performances.

TOTTENHAM are on the verge of completing their first signing of the summer after Jan Vertonghen claimed he was not interested in moving to any other club.

“There are still other clubs interested but I will wait. Tottenham is an amazing club and are the team I like to join the most,” he said.

“I’m just waiting for it to be done. I understand the situation and I have to be patient. I am not at the Euros but I hope it will be done soon after."

Although Tottenham are no longer able to offer Vertonghen the prospect of Champions League football next season, the centre-back claimed this was not a problem.

“Does it matter that Tottenham are in the Europa League? No, not that much,” he said.

“You don’t just join for one season.”

Ryad Boudebouz

Has amazing dribbling and skills. 20 mil might be too much but I've seen him play and he has a lot of talent

Vertonghen's going to be up there with Kompany and Skrtel as the best defenders in the league IMO. This is a great signing for Spurs.

Hmm, not that we really need a defender, but it's not good for us that Spurs are strengthening. Anyhow, I hope we get players of a similar quality in attack.

Belgium not in the Euros? Fucking get Mertens! Now!

Spurs might lose Bale and Modric. Lets see how much stronger they look in August.

Verthongen is a great player mind, God knows why he isnt moving to a bigger club.

Spurs are doing very well though. With the right strengthening its only a matter of time before they're pushing for the title in February.

Agreed. Spurs seem to add quality to the positions they need to strengthen, Friedel in for Gomes, Parker for Palacios, Adebayor for Crouch. Then they've got Caulker back from a years Premier League experience at Swansea. A centre-back sextet of Kaboul, Vertonghen, Gallas, Dawson, Caulker and King that looks very strong, though i'd say Ledley King, whose been quite poor, will have his playing time vastly reduced next season. I think Bassong and Nelsen will also be off-loaded. Instead of Hutton/Corluka they brought back Walker from his loan at Aston Villa. McNaughton back from his loan at Norwich to cover Assou-Ekotto at left-back. They kept hold of one of the best playmakers in the league last Summer. Any other year they would be playing in Europe's elite competition next season. All without talking about the best player ever! Unfortunately for us, it bodes well for them next season. 🙁

JAN VERTONGHEN last night warned Tottenham to hurry up and sign him – or he will join Arsenal instead.

The Ajax captain claims he has already been shown around White Hart Lane and chairman Daniel Levy visited him in Amsterdam on Monday.

But the Belgian defender fears the deal will collapse following Spurs’ failure to win a Champions League place next season – with Ajax demanding £12.5m.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger also wants Holland’s player of the season, who’ll skipper Belgium against Montenegro tonight.

“I’ve said repeatedly that Tottenham are my first choice, but the talks haven’t progressed,” said centre-back Vertonghen, 25.

“They have shown me around, I have met all their key people and their chairman came to meet me on Monday. But Arsenal want me too. They remain a possibility if my Spurs move falls through, as Ajax are asking €15m for me.

“That is a lot of money for someone with just a year left on his contract.

“I’m sure Spurs won’t be able to pay that much after they missed out on the Champions League.

“Ajax want to get as much as they can for me, while Spurs want to pay as little as possible.

“I hope a deal can be done. But I won’t fight with Ajax – that is the last thing I’d want after so many good years with them.

“England is my preferred destination. But if needed I will see out my contract and leave on a free transfer next year.”

I can't wait for when Friedel and Gallas retires, Parker and King calls it a day as a result of injuries, and Adebayor fucks off to earn more money elsewhere. 'Arry will move on to his next project, and viola! They'll be a leaky sieve at the back again, and less of the flat track bullies they are in attack these days.
