What fun is that for us? Will only lead to more speculation regarding the terms. Maybe this is designed to allow us to be cheap in our upcoming purchases. We can say that Real paid us nothing up front for Xabi.

I think it's 30m euro with some incentives to take it to 30m pounds, so about 33-35m euro total is my guess.

I was never hugely bothered about the fee.
The sad fact is a wonderfully gifted footballer is leaving us, who would be hugely difficult to replace however much we received for him.
All we can do now is put faith our faith in Rafael Benitez.

Obviously in my heart of hearts I knew it was coming, but I still can't help but feel so gutted. He is a wonderful player and has been a model professional for us, despite what some might say. I'm sad about the way things panned out, I wish we hadn't tried to sell him last summer, and more than that I wish he hadn't wanted to go this summer.
Truly gutted. I feel sad now, but I'm sure I'll just be pissed off and wanna punch him when I see him all smiles in a Madrid shirt.
I've never felt so gutted about losing a player. I love Xabi, I love the way he plays the game, I love the way he can ping point a ball in exact spots from one end of the pitch to the other, I love the way he sees balls that are on that others don't, I love the way he keeps a midfield ticking. I'm only gutted it will no longer be our midfield.
