The Egyptian King

Agree regarding the well taken goal however he wasn't superb today imo.
Thought he was quite frustrating actually
He tormented both full backs that marked him, scored his goal, set up a few other chances and tracked back superbly to win the ball a couple of times.

For a guy who gets doubled up on he was brilliant.

Superb finish for his goal, yes. Superb throughout..? Flip off. At his frustrating worst with everything he did, until he scored.

The fact that two of you on this site obviously think that he's somehow your long lost Dad continues to crack me up... Honestly, if he murdered your entire families, you'd publicly thank him for making it quick (even if he didn't).

Superb today and a nicely taken goal.

He is relentless.
We all watched the game, you don't need to lie to yourself to try convince the rest of us.

We've also watched hundreds upon hundreds of Liverpool games to know what a superb performance looks like. Gakpo with 2 well taken goals and an even better assist wasn't even superb.

He played well, like pretty much all the starting XI did. That's it.

Abuse? I don’t rem Rush getting any but pre internet so much better.

You said he does things that no other striker has done at a consistent level... but surely rushie scored at a more consistent level than mo?

Were any of our players abused the way they are nowadays? Can't remember the 80s ...

It's always been the way with Mo that he drifts in and out of games, and that's perfectly normal. The thing that makes him so valuable is that he is far more likely to be decisive in the vital moments than other players in his position. It's often the case that over 90 minutes his performance can be a bit meh, apart from the goals / assists. But it's the goals and assists that win the game. And even in those moments where he's ineffective, he's rarely a liability.
How often have you seen Messi tracking back? Ronaldo (either one)? Henry? Rarely. Seen them score shitloads of goals? Hell yeah.
Compare and contrast with someone like Dirk Kuyt - lots of effort to influence the game over 90 minutes but he didn't shit goals.
And as much as I loved Dirk Kuyt, I'd take Mo over him every day of the week because Mo wins us more games (and in an ideal world I'd shoe-horn a Dirk Kuyt type of player to tire the defence out for him).

I meant since he joined. Wasn’t on about historically before then.
Regarding Rush, pre Juve Rush then would assume so but post Juve Rush, defo No.

But in terms of simple stats, Salah has better goal ratio than Rush.

Yah since he joined, or since Suarez, no real competition.

As for goal ratio, I'd look at it more in terms of goals in finals, goals as a percentage of team goals and what you mentioned. No idea about the first two ... but I think youre right on the third

Imagine Suarez wasn’t such a wanker.

Pool are playing in the most important game of your life. Who would you prefer? Mo or the Maniac? (Suarez).

Suarez, he had almost identical productivity on a team that was far worse.

Anyhow, either one of them could shit on Ipswich. Salah didn't shit on them as much as he'd have liked to.
