Then you have wenger saying you should win in the right way... Where's that got him recently.

"Football's about winning"

Bob Paisley.

Indeed. Robeben moaning the other day that "he's only interested in winning". Embarrassing.
[/quote]

To be fair, if you read the whole interview, Robben was extremely complimentary about Mourinho. And that hug obviously suggests they're still friends.

Inter definitely deserved it tonight: Bayern were poor, and barely looked like scoring. Reminded me (sadly) of our defeat to AC Milan in 07. Except Bayern didn't even manage a consolation goal.

a few points:

- Eto'o has won the 'treble' two straight years in different leagues. Phenomenal. There's a reason he could do it at his club and Zlatan couldn't - and barely even keep the great Bojan on the bench. Mourinho made out like a genius with that move.

- Where did Milito come from!?!? Has he ever been this good? Sheesh, Maradona now has him, an in form Tevez, Higuain and Messi to choose from for the striking spots ... Nice issue

- I didn't think Bayern were that bad. They controlled the game and once they went down 1-0, Mourinho went into 'bunker' ball. Had Muller put away that chance, I think Bayern probably win. They really missed Ribery -

- I wish Mourinho would come to us ... Prove your greatness ... Come to a difficult scenario, with little money and high expectations and become one of the greatest ever.

LTW, you gotta be kidding? Bayern 'controlled the game'?! They did little more than run down the clock for Inter.

As for Eto'o... he's got a great record, and is undoubtedly a great striker, but he was practically invisible tonight. Playing on the wing doesn't suit him at all.

We were heavily linked to him two (?) summer ago, and he was largely slated for having no pace if I recall correctly. I may be wrong though (and it was probably me who slated him)

I said the same thing to my lad with regard the 07 final just before Inter scored their first goal.

So by implication (because Inter deserved to win tonight) did AC deserve to win in 2007?
A lot of people will still say we were the better team on the night.

I dunno - Inter played '10 men' behind the ball all the time while Bayern tried to play footy. They could have easily had 2 goals in the 2nd half on Muller's shots ... They were not at their best AND they were lacking their best player ... They weren't as bad as people are saying.

For someone who's made his millions on scoring goals, much credit needs to go to Eto'o for sacrificing his favored position (ST) to play on the wing of the 4-3-3 ... He's not had a great year 'stat wise' but 3 trophies AGAIN ...

His comments after the game are saying that Mr. Spider ... It seems he's defo leaving, and it seems Real is his destination ...

Will the real fans accept his style of football though, wasn't capello sacked for not playing attractive footbal even though he won the leauge.

Yes he was,

Real president Ramon Calderon told Marca newspaper: "We've laid the foundations, but we need to find a more enthusiastic way of playing."

Doesnt bode well for Jose, Anyone reckon he will last more than a season?

Yeah, unless things go disastrously wrong for him. Plus he's a big deal for Perez, so you won't see Marca waging a hate campaign against him like they did with Pelligrini.

if jose wanted a real challenge he'd go to liverpool. mediocre squad, tight board, competitors with riches (money/experience) far in excess of your own, but he'd never come here as liverpool would be the blemish on his cv when he fails to win the league.

Three things were demonstrated last night.
Mourninho is a born winner, he is passionate , charismatic, and players absolutely love him.
I think he would probably love to come, but I would not blame him for wanting to try and compete on something near an even playing field

regards

According to wiki Benitez has a 57.15 win % with Livepool, 53.37 win % with Valencia.
Ferguson has 58.93 win % with Utd
Mourinho on the otherhand has 70.73 win % with Porto, 70.81% with Chelsea and 62.04% with Inter.

Jose's Porto days can be discounted as the Portuguese league is piss poor, but he has a vastly superior figure over Rafa and Fergie..

HIRE HIRE HIRE

I know Fergie's figure is tainted from the days when UTD were average and Jose's top figures occur when he's managed teams expected to win the league.. But lets not forget we've been expecting to win the league every season since 1990..

All I have to say about this match was that Diego Milito's goal was world class.

Through on goal, many defenders breathing down his neck ... keeper comes out... and he has the nerve to fake a shot and then smash it home.

CLASS.

Milito, Eto'o , Pandev, Motta, Sneidjer - Inter sure had an inspiring transfer season last summer in terms of improving the quality of first team and the squad.

They sold Ibrahimovic for 40m plus Eto'o, 25m was spent on Motta and Milito both from Genoa, Pandev was free and Sneijder cost 15m.

Did they sign anyone else or did they dramatically improve their team while having a zero net spend ?

Spidey - THEY HAD TO SELL TO BUY - HOW CAN ANYONE BE EXPECTED TO COMPETE LIKE THAT ?

Pandev a CL winner 8)

Lotito looking like an even bigger wanker for freezing him out of the Lazio squad and thinking Zarate would bang in 30 goals a season for them

They also bought 'the seal' Kerlon but loaned him out to Ajax, the lad City wanted Mariga but he couldn't get a UK work permit, and Lucio.

Not too sure about the price and quality of Kerlon and Mariga, but Lucio was another great purchase for inter. I dont remember the exact price but it was in the 5 to 7 million category.
