Tevez - too depressed to return

Apparently this is his latest stunt to avoid returning to Man City.

Does everyone remember how the Bosman situation arose ? It came about when a club started taking the complete piss by refusing to renew Bosman's deal on reasonable terms while at the same time refusing to sell him to anyone, leaving him unpaid and unable to play anywhere else. As a result of one club acting completely unreasonably football's transfer system was turned on it's head and enormous power was handed to players.

I think Tevez represents an opportunity for City to strike back for clubs. It's ridiculous that clubs have absolutely no prospect of resolving a situation like this without taking a massive loss on a player. Tevez's actions are pretty much indefensible, and the PFA has admitted as much. For the good of football City need to act.

IT certainly will make everything a bit better for clubs if City handle this well. But i don't think there ever will be another shift in power like we saw for the bosman ruling,.

They're giving Kolo Toure hassle over his image rights payments too, arguing that he's not entitled to them because he hasn't got a good image following his drugs test failure.

It's about time someone challenged the status quo, football clubs get a raw deal.

FIFA made Mutu pay Chelsea a big chunk of his transfer fee back after they sacked him for breach of contract, though it took a kick up the arse from CAS to make them get involved.

Do you know how much they've received of that ?

Chelsea still have yet to see a penny of the money Mutu owes them, and they didn't receive a transfer fee because they sacked him. Juve picked him up for nothing.

Yeah, it looks like he's still appealing, so FIFA have done the bare minimum, as usual, letting him carry on playing. Chelsea aren't going to anything off him now.

The best part is the Italian FA banned him last year for failing more drugs tests. FIFA really are only there just to line their own pockets.

Its wierd.

In Any other industry this would have been sorted by now.

No other employment sector would carry on paying his full wages whilst he fucks off for 2 months.

Why can't footballers be sacked ?

Surely they can be sacked can't they? But City won't be wanting to sack Tevez because he's worth a fortune and they would get nothing back.

Well they are spending 200k a week on his wages, so they've already spent the best part of 2m on him since this thing kicked off- if they couldn't find a buyer in jan , eventually itd make sense to on the basis hed go at a massively reduced price in the summer?

I suppose they are part employee part asset, so in somewhat of a unique position

He must have had at least a few wage fines in that time?

I suspect it will either be totally resolved and he will be back in the side soon or he will be off in January, possibly on loan (and hopefully to us)

On loan? It'd be dependent on what portion of wages City would stump up. Even 50% would leave us footing £100k a week.

I suppose he's probably worth a 100k and he'd most definitely be a factor in us making fourth place if he did come, which in itself would be worth the few million he'd cost us.

I can't see him wanting to stay in the premier league though. One of the Italian clubs will no doubt snaffle him at some ridiculous cut price!

He'll go where Joorabchian wants him to go, and that'll be wherever Joorabchian gets the biggest bung. So yes, probably Italy.

Oh I'd be extremely surprised if we did go for him, and I agree that he will probably go to a different country, but he would potentially be a bargain for someone in the short term.

In the longer term he would be a pain in the arse in that he will eventually get pissed off but for a second half of the season loan he would be perfect.

Providing any major fuck ups he'd no doubt have the potential to be a legend here but there are too many variables for a long term gamble.

for 6 months though, you'd be mad not to be in for him.

I must be mad. I just can't get over his cuntishness. Ace on the field I know but an utter, utter female genatalia.

it's just 6 months. even nico behaved himself for that short a period.

Im more than happy to have him fuck people off for 6 moths if it got us Champions league football.

Agreed. I mean, Suarez is hardly Mr Popular but as long as he is playing well and helping us get results then I don't care much. And Bellamy has been annoying people for years!

If we were just wanted nice guys in the side we could have kept Crouch and Heskey

Man shitty should just stop paying the cunt.

Let the fucker sue them.

They should fucking sue the prick for failing to fulfill his contractual obligations.

I hope man shitty make an example of him. It's about time the balance was redressed.

I've been too depressed to 'return' to work every day for almost all of 2011. Unfortunately, I'm shit at football and have two girls to raise...

there's a general chat?!

If he is depressed, then no amount of money actually solves it.

Speaking as someone who suffers from depression, if he genuinely is suffering from depression, and some of his behaviours are symptomatic of it, then he deserves an element of sympathy. If he is using it as an excuse, then he has my complete contempt.

But we should do well to remember that depression does not discriminate based on someone's intelligence, status or wage packet.
