3 games, 9 points, 0 goals conceded.

Last season a lot was made of our defensive frailty. I always felt that we were a bit naive and lacked any kind of real organization and discipline... particularly in midfield.

It's early days but we closed that game out almost Rafa style.

Progress (and in due time, kudos) for Rodgers?

Nervy second half though. And in all honesty, I still saw mistakes were being made at the back. Luckily, they weren't exploited.

One of the commentators said it, there's a real team forming here, and its showing. Everyone played for each other, Henderson was immense.

I said this at half time too after Gerrard called Van Persie a wanker ... You can see a team forming around the mess off the Suarez affair, a team that has a chip on their shoulder and united and hungry ... Something special is happening here.

We didn't keep hold of the ball well enough in the second half. They were pressing hard to be fair, but we needed to keep them running by selecting the right passes and moving the ball sensibly. But by in large I agree. Last season you were right to say we played like a team that was lesser than the sum of it's parts. That doesn't appear to be the case anymore.

It's gonna be great when we have Suarez on the bench in case we need something different.
In all seriousness, the second half was crying for Suarez. A player that can do the miracle when the team is on the back foot and can't create fuck all.
Defence looking much more solid than last season which is good, and the attackers doing brilliantly a lot of the time closing down defenders and forcing errors.
We're looking good!!

Yes - it is a good start. We've had managers in recent times who focused strongly on defence and found it difficult to step up the atttacking game (Houllier and, to an extent, Rafa) and Kenny who focused on the attack and let the defence languish. I was thinking Rodgers might be in that mould - so am encouraged at the way we have started this season.
