“Slow-boszlai” if he ever loses a footrace to Salah.
The one thing from that info, that might raise a question is his positioning last season - he spent last season playing in the Salah role.
I can’t help but think, particularly if we’re still in for Thuram, that we’re selling Salah to fund all this.
That feels like the way FSG would finance this.
Wouldn’t be at all surprised if we firmed up interest in Lavia as well now.
Yeah my thoughts tooYup. Cant help thinking there is a sting in the tail coming with Salah sale.
That’s plausible, because if we did agree to sell Salah this summer, it would be definitely in our interest to keep this deal a secret for as long as possible so selling clubs don’t know we have that money in the pocket. Doesn’t matter for release clauses, but it would for future deals.
Also genuine cover for Salah during AFCON.If Salah leaves, it would dramatically increase the pressure on Szoboszlai to hit the ground running - in addition to adjusting to a new team and league he will now be expected to in some way fill the shoes of one of our best players ever. The lad doesn’t seem to lack confidence, but that’s a heavy burden. It would be much smoother if Salah stayed for one more season at least - if Saudi league is going to be his next destination, can they pay us in advance like we did for Keita?
Yep.
Given the FSG record, having spent £95m already, if we’re to fund another £50-70m for an additional MF & a CB, then you’d have to start thinking Salah’s off, unless there really has been a change in their modus operandi.
I suppose, given, the new stand is almost ready to go, that’s capital building projects done for a while - haven’t heard any plans for another stand re-build.
Ideally Salah stays - I don’t seem him pushing for a move this season after being disappointed at not getting CL - because he won’t get CL in Saudi Arabia.
I would be very surprised if Salah agreed to move to the Saudi league at age 31. He might eventually take a big payday once he's past his prime, but I simply can't see him abandoning the top level. He's one of the most motivated professional footballers I've seen. He chases goals, records and trophies.
He's still performing at an extremely high level statistically. His tweet when we missed CL qualification wasn't what you ordinarily get from a footballer on social media. This is someone who was genuinely crushed at not being able to play in the CL, and rise up the all-time CL goalscoring charts.
If he leaves, it'll be for PSG or somebody in the CL, not for the Saudis.
I'll give you odds of 1/100What are the odds this gets translated into Scouse as "So boss, la"?
If this new guy has the same availability rate at as Naby, I thinkbwe need to take Leipzig to court. Alrady I feel like we may get the same issue with Konate long term, and he is so good i keep thinking thare must be a reason why 35MI mean you've got to respect Leipzig..
After we played hardball over Carvalho. They respectfully did the same to us.
€70m over x years? Nope
€75m over x years? Nope
Over less years and more up front? Nope.. its €70m in one hit.. oh BTW. We are putting the price up at midnight.
Release clause triggered!

Need some old fellas in tiny English towns to get on TikTok firstWell we've stopped rioting for whatever reason. Brexit should make us. Think we need some tiktok influencers to start throwing bins through wetherspoons windows
Thiago is the one we should be selling to the Saudis.Honestly, not too happy about the fee. I think we paid slightly above market value for him.
On the other hand, the lad is only 22 and proven in the Bundesliga. It also looks like he has the right physical attributes to be able to battle it out with likes of Rodri, Casemiro etc.
6 goals and 8 assists two seasons in a row in the Bundesliga, I guess he's consistent. I'll be happy if he manages to get the same kind of production at LFC.
Our midfield is sorted for the upcoming season, I believe. There's been talk here about another DM, but I think it's a smart move to let Bajetic be the backup for Fabs.
Someone said something about having Hendo as a DM...nope, it's been tried before and he just isn't that type of ball winner.
Still think someone has got to go and the most likely candidate is Thiago, but I wouldn't mind it if we kept him around.
