Benteke has got enough pace imho, and thats nothing to worry about. He's (and Firmino) a few steps behind everyone else in terms of match fitness so they'll look much sharper in a few weeks.
His movement and work rate will probably surprise a few people.
Took his goal very well.

He'll start against Stoke.

I thought benteke looked good considering his lack of match fitness.

Firmino looked like he was holding back and still looked fairly classy.

Firmino will be brilliant, no worries about him.

He's always available, great first touch, balance and clearly has work rate and intelligence.

Could be vital for us.

I agree, Firmino just 'has it'. Pity we didn't sign him for half the cash last summer instead of Lallana.

Lallana has been excellent this pre-season. Good player and will get better.

But the lady's not for turning? Mind already made up?

This is the guy that said he'd consider supporting United because he wants Rodgers out that bad. Lallana's got another thing coming if he thinks a decent pre-season will mean fuck all in Peters mind.

Like I said, there's some miserable sad twats on here these days. Peter's hatred of Lallana is particularly grating, given he can't stop drooling over that massive fanny Markovic.

Peter was like a kid at Xmas when we got battered by Stoke. Unfortunately for him, his mum forgot to buy the batteries for the new toys and Brendan didn't get sacked.

Didn't see any of the game, so thanks for that. A few things that stand out from that though cos I'll be honest - I know fuck all about this kid and have never seen him play.

- See how tall he is when he receives the ball? That's a nice thing. He's up high on his feet and isn't concerned about crouching down to ensure a solid first touch. You see shit footballers half-crouched over when he ball's coming to them, they're so concerned about making sure their touch is good they compensate by setting the body up to ensure they've got everything behind the ball. This kid is upright, and looking around. Fire it at me, I'll trap it however it comes to me and I'll already be off and going. Little things like that seperate good players from average ones. Watch how Danny Ings receives the ball - it's not like this kid. Seriously, next time you're watching football have a look at the body positioning and the 'height' a player stands at when the ballthings.

Good point...Can does this very well too.

I don't even particularly rate Markovic you total and utter popinjay.

[article]Fop became a pejorative term for a foolish man overly concerned with his appearance and clothes in 17th-century England. Some of the very many similar alternative terms are: "coxcomb",[1] fribble, "popinjay" (meaning "parrot"), fashion-monger, and "ninny". "Macaroni" was another term, of the 18th century, more specifically concerned with fashion.[/article]
