I guess he needs some sessions with Steve Peters. He looks scared to get involved in any tight challenges, which really leaves him only being a threat if the ball is played into space, and there wasn't any space tonight.
first half we were poor, but swansea were still consigned to long distance shots. Brendan adapted. Monk didn't. Bringing on Gerrard as a false CB confused Swansea and gave us an extra dimension,
A much much better 2nd half where they hardly got a look in. Nice tactical changes Brendan !

It could be argued that we were unprepared, they were and but for a bit of luck we would have been a few goals down in the first half and lost
There's no way that Moreno and Coutinho were better than Henderson.
Hendo was shit the first half but improved massively second half.
Well Coutinho,Moreno and Lallana were massively shite for 90 minutes where Henderson simply wasn't.
I missed the game but can someone tell me if our league position is still looking great, looks the same or doesn't look so great?

The formation after Gerrard came on was something like 3-1-4-1-1. It's a clumsy way to describe it, but I don't see anything more accurate. 4-4-2 "diamond" in defense? 🙂 In any case the tactical switch essentially removed one attacker in favor of a DM (Gerrard), which allowed Hendo and Allen to push forward more than they could in the 1st half. The goal was scored precisely as a result of this tactical change, so all credit to Rodgers.
