Ive liked the look of him too. Quite surprised he isnt getting any love. He looks steady and hungry

He looks like the best DM at the club by some distance on the performances he's put in when called upon. I like him a lot. Reads the game well, breaks up play, passes to a teamate and keeps it simple. And he doesn't look dumb as fuck either.

Interesting. Although I doubt he'd start two players straight back from injury.

He didnt impress in the games vs Exeter though. I'd like to see how he does away to West Ham first and then play him in the league.
He was brilliant at home to West Ham mind.

He was really good in one of the Exeter games, he was a bit understated really because he kept things so tidy and simple, I thought he kept us ticking over well plus he doesn't look like a fanny, he's got a decent physique to develop into a dominating midfielder, if given the chance.

Adding Kirchhoff (6'5" CB - he played at CM against City), Kone (6' 3" CB) and N'Doye (6' 1" FW) possibly gave them more height than they had before. Kone also packs 198 lbs of muscle - he's built like a bull:

Not sure how we can win this game when they sit deep to deny space, with the lack of creators, pace and sharpness of mind and shooting in our side right now. Probably just hurl some names at it and hope something sticks. Maybe throw the Firmino - Benteke combo in again to see how it works this time as Firmino as a lone striker will be too flimsy and easily muscled off the ball in this game (see picture).

Assuming Henderson is out again, maybe throw together something like the following, with Smith playing in an advanced position and tasked with supplying Benteke with the quick high crosses while Can, Ibe, Firmino and Allen keep the ball moving with a bit of pace on the ground.

---------------- Mignolet --------------------
Clyne -- Caulker -- Lovren -- Flanagan
------------- Can ---- Allen -----------------
Ibe ------------ Firmino ------------- Smith
----------------- Benteke --------------------

subs: Ward, Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Milner, Lallana, Teixeira / Brannagan

If this season brings a cup then wonderful.

If it brings the EL that would exceed my expectations.

This time next season is where we should begin judging Klopp on his league performance.

He's got to mix it up for this one surely.

I'm struggling to find the motivation to care or watch our remaining league games. My only hope is we stay shit enough to miss out on Europe next year. Obviously I'll take it from a cup win, but we really could do without it next year.

I was talking about the Premiership. He's actually lost more games than he's won, so it's slightly worse than I thought.

15 played. Lost 6. won 5. Drew 4.

Not very good really.
So even with the qualification that you were talking about the league, the statement

He's now lost half of all the games he's managed, and that isn't good enough.
Is still a load of bollox

Yeah finishing 7th would probably help us do a lot better

Stewart isn't good enough and I wonder about Flanagan. I don't think he's quite the saviour many assume he is, and he has benefited from his ability improving ten-fold while he's been out injured. To me, Flanagan is a decent player, but he's not going to sort the defence out on his own.

It's just cult hero talk.

Given that Klopp came here as one of the most optimistic, positive and charismatic managers in Europe, it will be a testament to this club if we break him. Especially if we break him in the space of half a season. Little things like that remind me of how big and powerful the club still is, lest the lack of any decent players makes me forget it.

His ability at LB two seasons ago was superior defensively to anything we have now. There is no "ten-fold" improvement required. He had a brilliant season.

He's clearly started losing his mind with his rambling interviews and team selections. A win against Sunderland is needed just to prop him up a bit, before the further pain to follow. It's like when you want to make someone suffer, but you need to ease up now and again before you accidently push them over the line and kill them.

Sunderland are good for those sorts of much needed results and respite.

His interview style is partly due to the fact that English isn't his first language, and partly due to his personality; he was exactly the same in Germany: manic, laughing, angry, sarcastic and charming all in the space of two minutes. In fact, he's behaved far , far worse on occasion in Germany, so trying to claim he's "cracking up" due to his interviews is, frankly, risible.

That said, some of his team selections have been totally mental.

I took that into account. His early interviews made sense, despite the English problems. He got his points across and was thinking about his answers. Now, the English is still the same, his mannerisms are still barmy as ever, but what he is actually saying makes no sense and is deranged.

Er Hal he doesnt have to ( nor is he expected to) sort the defence by himself. If he can get the LB position sorted it wouls be a start.

You must be still seething that he's actually made it into the first team considering you said he had no chance.
While you were building up Pacheco and Suso as our saviours.

Yeah I'm so upset that he's been tearing up the league for the past few years.

I hope it's a 97th minute dodgy penalty for a one nil victory.
Fat Sam and his substantial head would explode.
