Fair Comment Markeh - City and Rm do have issues but RM less so.. Chelsea not really an option and Arsenal might be interested.

Separately, Enrique seems to think we are signing Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern. He shares an agent with him - and he's Dutch so there might be a pull from the Dutch lads

Salah according to some rags is available for €80m. No doubt an Italian club will ask if he is available for loan?

i was also in the certainly city camp a while ago but a combination of the links persisting, the player himself being odd about it and @Judge Jules postings have convinced me that there’s still hope

Lads, you're Jude B, and his Dad. You could go to Man City, London, Real Madrid, you were interested in Liverpool, and maybe even have a soft spot for them. But you would command less wages for Liverpool. And you would win less. Why would you go? Klopp's set-up is the main reason, but it seems on the wane.

There's also some kind of management maelstrom at the club. I just don't see a rational actor picking us. We had a shot last season. When we were cream of the crop. But not now.

"Liverpool? less money? Less trophies? I'm in!", said no big name ever.

So can we move on and discuss the other targets

At places like Real and Barca Top rated player have gone there and in many a case their footballing career went into free fall, and in many cases they had to wait until thrie contract
expired to leave and resurrect their careers Arjen Robben, Rafael Van Der Vaart, Kaká, Wesley Sneijder, Esteban Cambiasso to name but a few
So I am guesting that Jude would want to think three or four time before signing on the dotted line as far as Real Madrid is concerned

If you were Bellingham, would you want to go to City with all the uncertainty about whether you’d end up playing in the Northern Conference, or whatever it’s called.

Utd will be chucking money at him too, but would you go there knowing you might have even more of a battle to win things.

Depends on wether Klopp can sell him on the ideal of being integral to a complete squad re-vamp to keep Liverpool at the top.

I’m more worried that the serious alternatives mooted (you know, not by BlueMoronVan) , Neves, Matheus, etc don’t significantly improve us.

BlueMoronVan aka site loons [emoji3]

Though can I humbly suggest BlueMoronVanNomial?

My suggestions does not mean Klopp will go for it... so don't freak out!
Trent shouldn't be at RB -
Get
Frimpong €40m
Kone €30m
Jude €130m
Anton Stach €10m
Ndiki - Free
Kamada - Free
Thuram - Free
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia €120m

Total of €330m

Sell Jota (€70m) and or Salah €100m (If PSG come in for him), Gomez €50m, Matip €5m (That raises between €155-225m)
Lol in what world do we get 50m for Gomez?

Don’t think we need a cb to go straight into the XI to partner Ibou for next season so even if its just another option to grow into that position in the coming years when Matip/Virg come to the end of their contract….someone like Sutalo or Medina, a cheap option with potential to become very valuable.

If choose to spend the Jude budget on multiple cheaper midfielders instead, it's 2 x 70m over 3 x 45-50m for me every day.

What's the chance we strike gold with 3 fairly value priced players in the same part of the field in the same transfer window?

Will take at least 2 windows or more to fully rebuild the midfield, so make sure we go real quality even if we decided to eschew the absolute top of the market.

It depends on the role they are signed to fill. Neves is a very good midfielder, he's not better than Thiago at his peak but he's fucking miles ahead of Keita or Ox. Not every signing will be a direct first XI replacement. We need to rebuild the squad as well as the first team.

Yup.

Man United and even Napoli have shown one player can make a difference. Even Arsenal, with the introduction of Jesus played so much better.
The biggest let down this season has been Fabs, there's a mental block with him.
Then it's been Trent followed by VvD, a lot of the issues is mental/psychological and bringing one player could just change that.
I remember us signing Gary McAllister, how much he improved us.
Klopp's banking on Jude to lift the whole team, I hope he is right.

The Georgian is likely to be available, I honestly think he completes our attack, even if it means losing Salah and/or Jota to pay for him.

Yes - I definitely thing the solution to our problems is to sign another left sided attacker.

One can never have enough of these..

Why Jude would come to us? Because we're fucking Liverpool, thats why. With Klopp as our manager creating a new team with him as the vocal point.
Of course you'd want that.

Yes - that is definitely a positive ...
However:
1) more money, and a lot more, elsewhere
2) better teams that can compete immediately for league and CL
3) better climate in Spain

Now stack up why he'd move to Liverpool to the reasons why he wouldn't & see if you can balance the 2.

A new Klopp team will challenge for both. If we dont believe that then whats the point.

If we only invest in Jude, we won't mate.
Jude + our current midfield is still not good enough imo.
And there's concerns about TAA, VvD and our front 3 are potentially great, or average.

We have the money for Jude already (Tchuameni), imho. But yeah signing Jude alone wont be the answer. We need at least 3 midfielders.
TAA will be fine. VVD is still class. Our front 3 will continue to develop and evolve.
We have the best goalkeeper in the World.

Get the midfield signings right and we'll be challenging next season.

You know - you're one of the most optimistic fans here, and I get that - and often times love it too.
However, VvD is no longer world class - he just isn't. He needs to adjust his game ...
TAA will be fine if we find Hendo MK II, or he's moved to midfield.
Our front 3 - I hope so ... A bit more optimistic here.

I think we need 2 CMs & 1 CB.

Optimism has nothing to do with it. Its just talking sense. Players arent finished at 30/32 years old like part of SCM thinks. Modric is soon to be 38 fucking years old.
Virgil is still a fantastic CB and I'd say still World class. Our defense will get better with a more solid and functioning midfield. Just wait and see next season.
That said we need a new CB given that Gomez and Matip arent good enough. Gvardiol would be excellent but thats not happening given the fee.

I hope I can say "Mate, I was dead wrong wrong and we're quad'ing again!"
I hope.

I hope so too my good friend!

Re the links to Ryan Gravenberch. Could he be a cheaper alternative to Jude that we are looking at?
Have to say that if money is tight and we need 3 players I'd rather set up our midfield to win than sign one player.

Three nearly men won't set our MF up to win though, not the big prizes anyway. It may mean we start playing better than currently, but the improvement won't be enough to get back in contention for the trophies that mean something (by which I don't mean either of the domestic Cups).
