Our squad is wafer thin if we want to compete with City.
We will lose players on the end of their contracts anyway.

Right now we have 24 registered players...Of the players definately leaving: Melo, Bobby, Naby and Adrian. Home grown players leaving, Ox and possibly Millie. Not one will raise any income. 25% of a squad leaves the club earns zilch, and we supposed to be running a sell to buy model.
Gomez and CJ are not improving, and Matip is over the hill. You could get possibly £50m for all 3 and buy a player who will add value. I'd keep Nat's, he doesn't breakdown, and is realiable. 8 players out 5-6 in. I think Fab's could be the next utility player, who can play CDM, RB and CB

I really don't get the keep Nat line. He's bang average and obviously Klopp doesn't rate him. Both Gomez (as useful at centre back as a three legged cat) and Phillips can go, although unless we have a really good youth player Joe will be here for next season.

Nat is 5th choice? You can't expect a 5th choice defender to be anything better than average. The problem is Gomez and Matip have fallen off a cliff, and with their injury history are unavailable for large chunks of the season

To be any choice you need to have the confidence the manager will play them. Nat obviously does not have Klopp’s confidence.

i meant 5th choice. When 3 of your top 4 defenders are injured, you go to 5th choice. In my book he should be 3rd/4th

And the idea that Fabinho can be a utility player is similarly dubious. He can't even play the position he was, not so long ago, world class at without looking like he's running through quickmud.

Time we were pro active and not inactive, get just rid of all the players who are past it/not good enough now rather than keeping them until they're using walking frames.
