Forget the goals ... Giving the armband to Agger when he comes on ... Mentioning Stevie every time they talk about him captaining Liverpool. He may be the best player in the world on form currently, and yet he seems to get 'it' and remains humble off the pitch ...

What a player ...
 
My only annoyance is that some people think he is a cunt.

I don't, I think he's a wonderful guy who sometimes goes to far with his will to win.

I hope he retires at Liverpool
 
Isn't it normal to hand the armband to vice-captain / captain if he comes on the field?

Perhaps petty to point it out but it didn't occur to me as being some kind of respectful gesture on Suarez' part.

Wasn't there a case when Stevie came on and Carra was captain and the armband stayed on Carra?
 
He has been the same guy...

The difference is we don't have a certain Alex Fergusson in the hot seat selling porkies that he is the biggest villain in the whole wide world.


Suarez dives, yes, but he has never been the worst offender in that league in that regard.....Young throws in far more dives. Yet Fergusson had everyone talking about his diving. Kenny saw this, but he didn't deal with it properly. The best course of action for Kenny to do would have been to let Suarez's talent to fight it out. He didn't need anyone fighting his battle.

Dunno - I don't really remember. I just think Suarez is THE ideal team player, on and off the pitch. Stories about him going to train with the reserves etc, he's just captain material ... and yesterday's 'rule following' behavior just shows what he's really about.
 
Ordinarily, handing over the armband and placing himself below Gerrard in interviews is an empty gesture that costs him nothing, it may just be a cynical attempt to get people to stop hating him. But then the real class thing he did was pass the ball to Sterling. That was completely out of character and now sterling owes him one. Hopefully against city the little shit will be determined to return the favour, instead of aimlessly trying to win a useless corner that Gerrard isn't there to take.

He repeatedly racially abused a black man.
He bit another man.
Twice.
He pleaded all summer long to be allowed to leave us.
And he talked about his "special relationship with the fans" after being handed 200 grand a week.

I know he's a footballer like no other right now, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GIVE. ME. A. BREAK. MAN.

Ha, well I don't think he is a racist and I think there is far worse a player can do on a field to an opponent than nibble on them.

He asked to leave to play in the CL but when he was refused he knuckled down and has now guaranteed us a huge fee when he does go.

So ya I think he's aces.

Well Ryan there would be a few on here I'm sure that think your a cunt and a bit racist but and superb at football and I wouldn't agree with ant of those three statements so maybe you are right
 
We don't even know if Suarez was being racist. But the biting incident was out of order for sure. Wanting to leave in the summer? Well that irked me too but looking at it from his point of view, he wanted CL football. Can't blame him for that.

Ok so he's a bit of a cunt. I'm not exactly sure what Ryan's trying to prove. But he's more than made up for any previous acts of cuntishness as far as I'm concerned with the 110% efforts he puts in every game.
 
Well, at least Ryan is "brave enough" to come out an defend his stance...

We all were furious when he wanted to leave this summer (and the way he handled it).
Not all of us took that racist issue as a fact (I believe most didn't).
Not all of us saw the biting incident as badly as Ryan did.

Anyway, he got punished severely for those incidents. He's back and on fire. His behaviour is spotless these days. He's leading us up and we're playing some great football. He's signed a contract extension, He's saying the right things. That's all that matters.
He's no saint - he's just another human being. I'm sure that if he leads us to a top four finish even Ryan will forgive him.

By the by, Suarez has scored the most goals in a calendar month ever by a player in England in the league with 10 in December and still can get even more.

He was a cunt all summer but as a football fan I'm easily persuaded again to love the current best player in the World. He's our best chance to win some throphies and we all know it. I couldnt give a toss about sitting on my high horse riding in to a 6th place finish without him. I'd rather forgive and get into the Champions League.

The biting is one thing. The Evra incident is another. Lets just enjoy that he's here now and scoring goals in Football manager/Fifa 14 style.
