Watched the highlights again and the penalty is very, VERY soft. We were unlucky. Still doesn't excuse Carragher, though. I wouldn't drop him just yet, however.
Got up at 7am to watch it and it ended up ruining my Saturday. How did Henderson not score one of those chances? What was the famous quote by Shanks... if your in the box and not sure what to do, stick it in the back of the net and we'll take about it later. Sorry for paraphrasing.
Suarez had to score too. I'm not having this notion of him being crap in front of goal or one on one's, his goal against Fulham last year to go around the keeper was exquisite. He'll score plenty of goals for us.
I know it's pointless saying it but we DID miss Raul's movement and late runs into the box. I can't wait for Gerrard to come back in to the side.
I thought Downing was good, always got a yard and got some nice crosses in. He goes at players (albeit cuts in from the right at times) but he's quick and clever.
Adam started okay and moved the ball at ease. Then he got this notion of being Hollywood Jerk Adam and squandered possession time and time again. I don't like Jerk Adam. Some nice set pieces though as usual.
Skrtel got through that game and did a job at RB, I suppose they had Huth there so neither had a proper RB. He wasn't too sure of himself moving the ball. Such a shame Glen and Kelly are injured.

if I put aside my frustration of losing the game, I actually thought we played pretty well considering the stickiness of the pitch. profligacy in front of goal cost us points but at least we crafted genuine chances.

I agree that he is sometimes overly ambitious with his passing, but I think he needs to be doing that to some extent to take advantage of Downing and Suarez. Sometimes it can be frustrating, but like against Bolton, it can be extremely effective if he and the forwards are in tune.

Luck was not on our side yesterday, the pen probably was a pen but it was very cute Carra was actually trying to hold himself up with his arm after being near flattened by the striker, if he Carra had not been so determined to stop Walters and had fell over dramatically like Walters himself did it would have been our free kick. Losing three points at Stoke is a real bubble bursting event especially considering other results and the psychological test which places like Stoke seem to present us with, ie Liverpool will never win the title until they win at shit places like Man U do etc ... I thought Lucas did well yesterday though, apart from some absolutely shite passing in the first minutes. But Henderson reminds me of Lucas when he first came here and that's not just against Stoke. It's early days and all that but right now I'd prefer Maxi.

I think we did play like shit. I think it was a naive performance and we'd have been better hoofing the fucker to Carroll - I mean it was painfully obvious that all of our midfield was playing completely shit so we'd have got more joy bypassing them and letting Carroll nod it down to Suarez / Bellamy. That was the idea with 15 mins to go, but should have been the idea with 15 mins gone, or beforehand.
