Stevie G. to leave Liverpool - Official

Has anybody shed a tear yet I bet a few young en's have, maybe older ones on the last day of the season.

I was chatting to Young Peggy about this earlier. Gerrard was his boyhood hero in the way Kenny was mine. Players we 'love' come and go (Torres) but Gerrard's departure, as much as I think it's the right thing for all concerned, is up there with Bob and Kenny retiring and Rushie going to Italy for me.

I Know how the younger fans feel as like you said above and I was a massive Ian Rush fan but the younger won't know any difference as Stevie will have always been at the club and I'm sure he'll return just like rush & Dalglish did.

I'm not so sure about him returning. That might have just been a platitude the owners felt obliged to express. I just can't see him coaching or managing.

curtis woodhouse @woodhousecurtis

“@SqueezyMac_: @woodhousecurtis Are you for real?! Scholes, Keane & Vieira all behind Gerrard " yes, I played, you watched son

To be fair the only time I saw Gerrard bossed was against Viera. He admits it himself.

I bet the crystal palace tickets will be worth a few quid.
A friend of mine sent me a you tube montage of him and I blubbed big time. I am a massive fanny though so... The older I get the more I do that weirdly. 🥷

There is no denying who the better player was though (I guess I would say that) They influenced games in different ways but Gerrard for me everytime.

On a side note I can't believe the Gooners let Viera go so cheaply and he still had plenty to offer. Their loss I guess. I hope I don't feel the same about Captain Fantastic. I can't believe he's going! 🙁

Nothing to be ashamed off Red, just a passionate red fan shining through.
Thanks man - It's a funny one for me as I've been a champion of Gerrard from his early days. I remember reading match reports in newspapers when I was working in a picking factory in Stoke and seeing him getting MOTM in every read up. When he nearly left (twice) I was gutted. He didn't and that was ace in every way. I remember going to bed in Australia miserable but checking tinter klacker the next day and he decided to stay.... Brilliant!

He's deffo the finest player I've seen pull on the red shirt and will rightly go down as a proper legend. It will be a very sad day when he does. A sad day for LFC but probably the right decision..... I think.....

I've a sneaky feeling he might go to a European side.

It is going to be impossible for Stevie to resist this...

That Carra article in the mail is a bit arsey & very biased imo.

Suggesting that Stevie could have a job shadowing Rodgers for the next year completely ignores what everyone knows & the club never admits, that Steven is a moody cunt at times so it'd cause issues.

I agree with the overall point that the club have allowed it to happen, but I think he ignores the fact that it's hard to imagine a different outcome if he won't take being benched yet wants to continue playing.

Can't see it happening, but I suspect that's being done to ensure no repeat of the lampard situation, should he go to an mls side that agree to loan him out temporarily it would make more commercial sense to pay the wages ourselves & guarantee his "#lfcicon" (their term) image forever.

Feeling a bit fucking angry about this now.

Don't care what anybody says, the arguments for this being 'the right decision'(your balls), but Steven Gerrard should be retiring in a Liverpool shirt, and a Liverpool shirt only. It feels wrong on so many levels.

Game's gone.

what if he doesn't want to spend any time on the bench though? we can't carry on playing him every minute

Yes, Steven, your game has gone, so forget about the 20 million dollars you can earn in LA.

Yeah...he really needs the money. He could have went to LA when he was done at LFC, and lived happily ever after.

Sorry but this is fucked up.

I'm going to have to get Woland's son to teach me how to sneak into Anfield. Really want to get into the ground for his last game. Can I start a queue for tickets? I will offer face value and a kidney.

I don't eat kidney so if I get a ticket you're not having it !
