It would seem that his exile in Holland has been good for him as FC Twente are a couple of wins away from their first ever league title. Saw them play in the UEFA Cup the other day and they looked good, played nice football as well. We've all had a bit of a moan and a laugh at his expense, but fair play to the guy, eh?

I think you and I spoke about this before Ken.

He's clearly a very capable Manager/Coach.

Jim Smith and Ferguson loved him. He took 'Boro into the top half of the table, and got them to the UEFA Cup Final. Look at the fuckin hack of them now.

The England job came to soon for him. And I never get the abuse he takes from English supporters either; if it weren't for him and his failures folks, you'd never have got Capello.

He's doing very well in Holland, and but for the infamous umbrella, he'd have been back in a good job in England long before now.

What is so wrong with the umbrella picture? I don't get this....

This. Very much this.

And I never get the abuse he takes from English supporters either; if it weren't for him and his failures folks, you'd never have got Capello.

This, however, is a bit ridiculous. The English should be happy that they missed a major tournament so they could get a "world-class" manager who will lead them to another quarter-final penalties defeat? *shrug*

Hey Ryan ... David Carney goes from Sheffield Wednesday bench to being on track to win the Eredivisie 😱

It would be worth getting McLaren as Manager just to hear his fake scouse accent in an interview 3 minutes after accepting the position.

Nikolay Rukyvitska (sp?) is a better example mate. From the bench at Perth Glory to the Eredivisie.

Oh yeah totally forgot about him.

Yeah its Nikita not Nikolay.... some ppl saying he is a dark horse to make the Oz squad.

If anyone mentions this twat for a certain managerial post this summer, then a automatic life ban from SCM would be thoroughly deserved.

He won one trophy at Boro, which any club in the Premiership can win. And often do.

All credit for getting them to a European final, but they got fucking humiliated in that, and towards the end of his tenure they got battered so badly and so often that not one boro fan was sorry to see him go, and they also finished what 14th? 15th?

Let's not get carried away.

Why?
Because-
A)He's Man U.
B)He's a ginge.
C)He's a Ginger, Man U, Tactically inept, scrotum faced loser who couldn't fucking win one of the easiest qualifying groups we ever had.
D)England 0 - Macedonia - 0
E)Croatia 2 - England - 0
F)Isreal 0 - England - 0
G)Russia 2 - England - 0
H)And worst of all, when we only needed a draw AT HOME to qualify, even after all that shite England 2 - Croatia - 3.
I)He made John Terry England captain! Johnfuckingimacuntterry!
Not to mention the friendly games versus Spain, Holland, Brazil and Germany.
He won 50% of his games as England manager. And his 'You write what you wanna write' shite to the press was a joke.
I hate the cunt. Hate him.
I know i'm in a minority of one on here, but England mean the world to me, and I love my national side. So yeah Hate, Hate, Hatedy Hate.
Jebby Ginger cunt fucking twat.

Like who?

Well, Sven did end up at Notts County. Hoddle didn't do much after. McClaren has ended up in Holland. It's not that wide of the mark.

Sven follows the money. Hoddle's turned down plenty of jobs and is a PR disaster area and McClaren wouldn't have got any job in the UK after his desperate England performance, and needed to get away. He will be back, though.

Hoddle managed 2 Premierleague sides after England and Sven managed Manchester City then went looking for money at Notts.

This. McClaren's one example (there are plenty of others - Uncle Roy, Brian Kidd etc.) - of an excellent English coach who understandably wanted to become a manager but isn't cut out for it. It's no accident that he's had to go to Europe to do well as the guy in overall charge of team affairs, because over there the guy we would call a "manager" does a job much more akin to that of a first team coach in this country. McClaren will probably be back, but if he takes a manager's job here again I expect him to fail again.
Id much rather have had allardyce than Ginger balls.

I wouldn't. McClaren had at least gotten Boro to a European final and tried to play football. Allardyce would have irritated the players to kingdom come with all his pretentious high-tech twaddle, amounting in the end to little more than "go out there and kick ten bells out of the opposition and the ball, in that order". Plus I'd have hated to see that f'cking lardbucket being the international public face of English football. Poor as he was, McClaren was defo the lesser of two evils for me.
I can't agree. Because fluff, technique, attitude and smarm to one side Allardyce would have won more matches. He would for sure.

I think the thing I was most angry about at the time was that after his abject failure as manager he wouldn't be a man and just quit. He waited to get sacked and took the fucking 5m payoff offered to him.
It fucking galls me when a manager can fail so fucking miserably and walk away quids in. And ultimately the fans paying 100 a ticket or 50 quid for a shirt or 5 for a fucking hotdog have to foot the bill for someone doing less than the bare minimum needed to keep their job.
That said the FA are fucken clowns for not writing something performance based into their contract so they can adios a manager who is a loser........hmmmmm reminds me of something else.
