Steve Clarke Rumored to become Kennys No 2

Is Clarke the one who played for Newcastle? Defender, always injured?? I know he's highly rated as a coach, I just wondered if it was the same guy?

EDIT, just looked it up. I thought he'd played for Newcastle as well, seems he was only coach there.
 
maybe we are better off going for a young hungry manager because would an experienced top class manager come to liverpool with no say over transfers or his back room staff?

Never knew there was a newcastle player called steve clarke, he just remind me of the late def leppard guitarist though.
 
I hope Kenny had some choice in this matter. While I don't mind Commoli et al bringing in a more permanent staff, it's very important that the first-team coach and the manager have a good relationship. Anyone know if Kenny knows Clarke personally?

Lee Clarke played for Newcastle, although I thought he was a midfielder
 
Read on another site that the Clarke appointment has Deschamps written all over it.
Could be true if he's sounded out to take over in the summer.

If FSG back Kenny this month and he is able to strengthen the areas of the team that are lacking AND the players buck their ideas up with the fans behind them etc etc....

It is not inconceivable that we finish in the top 6 even now...

IF that happens nearly all of the fans would demand Kenny stays in charge.

Im really really hoping that Kenny is the manager next year!
 
We got sentiment with the appointment of Kenny, so who cares that Clarke was at Chelsea and came across as a bit of a moron during his time there, I just want the people who are the best in the business at our club. If Kenny's picked him, then I'm happy with it.

I think Clarke is just first team coach and not his assistant.
 
Sammy Lee is currently Assistant Manager I believe so if Thommo comes back then I assume Sammy will be off.

Clarke has replaced Kelly.

Yeah I know just think it's funny that their season fel apart after he left. Him on a Liverpool bench would be horrible!
 
The best person to know at the club is the old woman who sows the initials on tracksuits. She knows fucking everything almost immediately.
