Hansern

Thinks he owns the place

According to Twitter he's close to a loan move to West Ham.

If true, good or bad move for him?

Bad.
Big Sam's style of football won't suit him and he will get too comfortable with London life again

Sorry Hansern I know I defended you the other day but can you not just say 'according to Twitter'. Twitter doesn't say anything. People do, and some are worth listening to and some aren't.

So maybe just say if it's a respectable journalist or some such or just a dodgy 'ITK'...

I'm OK with it to be honest. Big Sam's style shouldn't effect him too much.
Might be good for him to play in a team that isn't laced with top class players. It'll hopefully make him work harder.

Alas, I think it's bull.

No worries mate. Its from a QPR fan that is very reliable when it comes to info.
Wheter or not this happens is another story, but he's been told it could happen.
Check him out, one of the few who doesnt post BS.

@monkey_sponge: Raheem Sterling close to West Ham loan

I would be OK with this sort of a move, and West Ham need someone to cross it to Carroll

Are we sure they don't want Downing for that though?

Not good. I was excited about his prospects for us this season.

The said, other less "reliable" itks on Twitter are claiming we've agreed a deal for a "right sided attacker" to be announced within 48hrs

He is good enough for our first team now so,I'd like to see him stay.
If West Ham want a winger perhaps they'd like to buy Downing??

Bah! Hope this isn't true. He has looked good in pre-season, and I would rather see him on our bench than in Big Sam's fat clutches.

He should be part of the squad now, he's better than alot of players out there, if he was a Johnny foreigner most would be wetting themselves at the prospect of signing him, so..

Yeah, I'm not sure either tbh.
He's 18 and need games so if he's a guaranteed starter it could be good for his development.
If we're doing this then its because someone else will be coming in imho.
And then next year he'll be in the first team or close and Downing will be off with Sterling having 1 full year in the league helping his development.

Its a toughy imho.

He also casts doubt on the Papa link Hansern.

So is he reliable or not ?

I think so, but the point of the thread was also to discuss if a loan would be good or bad for him if its true.

This tweet from the WHO owners son is interesting:
@jsullivanwhu: We hope to sign right sided striker within 48 hrs. Terms agreed with his club. Hes a very exciting prospect. When its done I’ll tell u.

And downing remains? If this is true, it is rubbish. Sterling has more talent in his little left toe than downing, who seems impervious to Rogers.

Oh, and if you're refering to the Sky comment then thats correct. That reporter was going of the Greek news story and not a confirmation of anything. Casts doubt of the link is bit ott though.

People have to want him and want to pay the price for it to be worth it, unless someone will pay decent wedge or cover his wages, it's a bit of a no go, we paid alot for him and will have to compensate him if we force a sale. There's a few weeks left yet anyway, there's all sorts of mooted goings on, so there's still time for Downing to be nudged.

Hmm. I didn't see a loan for Sterling on the cards.

Can't decide whether this would be a good idea or not.

Its a difficult one alright, will be interesting to see if it does materialize into a move.

Don't like the idea personally. If it was a footballing club like Norwich or Southampton then it would be good.
