So Zenit at home

Started with a bang, out with a fucking whimper.

Rodgers subs the decider tonight. His lack of big game tactical nous cost us.

Can't fault that performance and while it's easy to knock the subs, I don't think anyone, manager included deserves criticism. Apart from Shelvey who is wank.

Well, the substitutions didn't work. You might argue that we tired, but the minute we scored, the subs should have been asked to sit down. At least for another 10 minutes. What might have been.

Subs have took it out of us.

Wrong choices and I think it's over...

Maybe they were knackered and that's why they got took off, I dunno. You're right though, as soon as we made the subs we looked gonners.

I used to be a big fan of Shelvey ... but it's time for him to go on loan for a year ... He's really gone backwards.

Pity we couldn't win that ... I thought it was ours to take too ...

Well done anyway, that's a proud performance that augurs well for the future.

Indeed. The fight & spirit from all, including many players who have never played in this level of competition before was outstanding.

Rodgers should learn from his mistakes. If he does, & the side continues in this vein we can look forwards to a bright future.

Yeah, not scoring an away goal from the loads of chances we had did the damage.

Feel for the lads, it was a great effort and performance.

Rodgers cost us.

Yes Carra made the error but the subs ruined the momentum and neither of them made an impact.

Sad, because he'd done great work up til that point

Again. Horrible sub from Brendan. Why take off Allen who was running his socks off and bring on an out of form Shelvey? WHY?

Shelvely could made himself into a hero with that chance he had.

Sadly his confidence has gone.

Rodgers should learn from his mistakes.

Yup ... Let's be honest, he's made a few mistakes in this tournament ... I don't know if it's because of inexperience, or because of over confidence ... Whatever it is, he'll need to learn and adjust accordingly. He can be a very very good manager, but that all depends on how he matures as a manager.

Oh well ... Tough loss ... Proud to be a Red.

The spirit and fight we saw today is a good sign ... Carra will never play for us again on a European night, but he can rest assured that if the lads play with the same commitment like they did tonight, we'll be doing something special in the coming years.

Can't fault that effort. We've been saying here that we're a mentally fragile team and lack fight once we go down; this performance goes to show we actually can wake up and fight if we wanted to badly enough. Hopefully we'll show more of this spirit in the future.

Ok, I'm harsh on rodgers there but those subs shouldn't have been made at the time
