It will be a travesty for English Football if Man City where to finish fourth, they will buy their way to success, forcing other clubs into further debt to try and to compete..

Inflated wages, Inflated prices to get the players they want, it would be sickening to watch. English football is in a mess as it is without their nonsense going on

If there is ever a need for a wage cap, next season would be a good start!!!

Please to god I hope they dont finish 4th...

Personally i'd like to see Tottenham Claim 4th spot.. I like ol 'arry and they Deserve it...

btw is it just me but ol 'arry alway looks like he has Down Syndrome to me...

From our point of view, I'd like to see City get fourth.
They'll spend massive anyway. If Spurs get it, they'll be an even bigger force making it 6 clubs that can fight for silverware.

Villa would be the best option, but that won't happen.

However they wont get the players they want if they don't finish fourth. Apparently they have an A & B list. One if they qualify for the Chamions League and One if they don't. They wont attract the world class players they 'really' want, if they are not in the Champions League.

They put together a very good team this season, and will continue to get players regardless.

I think their A list players won't join them even if they get CL.
Torres, Kaka, Pato, Aguero etc. They're having a laugh. It will be like the previous Kaka/Terry transfer bids.

This 'attracting world class' players shite is irritating and stupid

Everyone used to throw that one at Chelsea, and say that the most coveted players in the world never went there (Kaka, Gerrard, Ronaldinho, Whoever) and that they'd always have to 'settle' for one-tier below that purported level

Which is exactly what Mourinho wanted, and helped him build an unstoppable Premiership team

City may well do the same, and with Tevez, Adebayor, Barry, De Jong, Kompany, Bellamy et al, they've already assembled a very, very good squad

The differance between Chelsea and City was that Chelsea where there or there abouts when Ambromvich came in, and he was not prepared to pay stupidly silly money like city are prepared to do. Their over inflated transfer fees will yet again ruin the transfer window for everyone this summer, more so if they finish 4th

Man City's aim is to win the title next season and the only way they believe they will is if they finish fourth this season.
They will spend like it doesn't matter, any price & any wage.

On the flip side they have a lot of players who blow hot and cold, and how long will players like Tevez, Adebayor etc want to stay if they are not guaranteed Champions league Football.. ?For me the longer they stay out of the top 4 the better.

Spurs.

The qualifying round wont be that easy by the way.
[/quote]

which is true as neither Man City or Tottenham will be seeded, which means if they don't qualify it could have a long term effect on our co-efficient rankings.

i think i'd just about rather see city get it, just because there's something horribly smug about spurs. i hate them like i used to hate newcastle. also, seems to me that they're just as big a long-term threat as city given their new stadium and the imminent uefa regulations on spending being linked to revenue.

I'll say Spurs or Aston Villa as lesser of evils. Plus they probably would not get far in CL. 1st group stage maybe.

Toetonham

I couldn't care less. Although i still think we stand an outside chance if we win all three. But with Torres out, and Gerrard struggling for form....we would be lucky to get three points.

Villa for quite a few reasons.

Agreed. Why on earth are people choosing. for a pretty decent and wealthy Spurs?

Madness.

Villa don't have the class nor the squad depth to cope with CL football, plus they don't have the same attraction for players.

I have friends who support Spurs and I am (this isn't a surprise) a big Bellamy fan. That being said, if it's not us I don't really care. Just hope they don't ruin the coefficient too badly.

 Why do keep emphasizing this dude? Is this a running joke that i'm not getting? Did you lose a bet or something? Do you owe Craig money? Is this how you are paying it? Plugging him?

Like on every thread I see, there's darkstar telling us how he's a big Bellamy fan (again).. before offering his opinion on the actual topic!

It's at times like this, when there's precious little to laugh about, that I particularly miss gkmacca's Bellamy Diaries.

Honestly, I have no real idea. I like him as a player, his work rate, his pace. I was happy when we signed him, sad when we sold him. The Bellamy Diaries are among the greatest things ever posted on this site. And I like eating meat.

I think at this point it is a running joke that isn't funny to anyone but me. But that's okay. I'll continue until Bellamy stops being a good player.

(And it's better to be known for this than for the drugs. *pulls long sleeves over track marks*)

I was going to say Spurs cause I like the football they play and their performance to beat Arsenal and Chelsea in 5 days was as outstanding as it was unexpected.

However, after that that post Jack, Villa it is.

Fuck Spurs.

The only thing that excites them more than beating us, Arse and Chelsea is the thought of getting bum-raped by the Mancs.
