I'm convinced that if we get Van Gaal in as DOF/Sporting Director/Whatever, that we'll go after Rodgers for the Manager's role.

They share a similar attacking, possession-based philosophy, and Rodgers seems to be the easy going type who would revel from working under someone with Van Gaal;s experience and expertise.

In fact, I've also convinced myself this is going to work too.

Sitting at 28% right now, but I'll keep y'all update.

Yup, I'm thinking along these lines too.
 
Martinez is gonna surprise a lot of people. I believe that he can step up and be successful with an attacking brand of football with us. He is a student of the game and wll continue to learn and innovate.

he can learn somewhere else, we're not a training ground for people to experiment and better themselves. you come here and people expect you to already be completing and winning.

We should stay well clear.

I saw him manage clubs in Austria and it was dreadful.

He may be a good national team manager but he is a woeful club manager.

yeh because all of our previous successful managers were really top Euro team managers before they bought us greatness, NOT

I will back any manager we have, we have a decent squad and with a few tweaks and a young ambitous manager who likes attacking footy we can succeed.

AVB wasn't learning a whole lot at Chelsea, in terms of manager-player psychology. Things went from bad to worse.
He also forced his tactics onto a team lacking the players to do it, and stuck with it.
Wasn't much of a 'student of the game'.

I'm sorry but that's bollox JM, look at the gaze, the intensity, the focus....and all whilst crouching down (obviously to watch the game from different angles) how much more a "student of the game" do you want?

i know it's just media headlines but the idea of 'fighting' aston fucking villa for martinez is sickening .

And yes i'll be patient and yes nobody has a clue what is going on behind closed doors but this whole idea of wanting a Sporting Director - Young Manager structure is pissing me off . Just get the best fucking manager you can regardless of some arsing structure .
