So Van Dijk isn't fit

In all honesty, Hansern is too positive and optimistic ALL THE TIME for my taste, but I do like him. Seems like a really nice guy. But yeah, he was basically hounded by Rosco for fucking ages. I like Ross too, though, so I'm not picking sides.

Yeah, it was a bit weird. You cant post a reply to the likes of Brendan without being called a spastic etc. But for some reason thats okay.

I thought the new way forward was arrogant and cunty. Ah well.

I don't remember specifically calling you a "spastic" or "cunt" or indeed anything of the sort. Or indeed anyone else recently.

(Who didn't deserve it).

Yeah, leaping to the defence of Rosco because someone he is continually snide with is being snide in return seemed odd. I genuinely thought Oncy was taking the pish there.

Ross handles criticism like he handles his nuggets

Like a fucking baws

Hansern handles criticism like how he handles new signings

Overwhelming positivity

They're both thick skinned is what I'm saying

Agree with this. Some posters are consistently abusive. No surprise that it eventually gets returned.

Thanks mate, I’ve stopped smoking crack now so all the positivity is being drained out of me. Slowly. I might become normal in a few years time.

You didn't used to be. You were a nice man.

I still am. Just not today. I’m usually, as Fabio says, thick skinned about these things so I dont mind.
I am in a foul mood though. Me ex is being a dick in regards to moving into another area. My new girlfriend and I are trying to find an area which suits all parties given we both have kids from previous relationships. My ex wants to move in the complete opposite direction. Obviously... So today I’m in a right foul mood to be honest.

Yeah that will do it. But look on the bright side. If she fucks off further away you Will have more guilt free, free time.

He's been told he needs to lose weight by Carra:

“I think it will prove to be a great signing, but he hasn't hit the ground running. I think he needs to get fit and lose a bit of weight. He actually looks too big. Maybe that's to do with not having a pre-season, not playing too many games for Southampton.”

Not really what you want to hear about your world record defensive signing.

Over in Manc Land, I believe Laporte walked off the plane, onto the pitch and looked great. Admittedly far easier to do in that City team, but still.

I really hope VVD works out as everyone hopes.

Laporte has played 30 games this season for Bilbao, and had a pre season.
Made his debut against WBA at home were they had 1 attempt on target and 27% possession.
I think even Mangala would have looked good in that game.

Van Dijk has played 11 for Soton and no pre season.
The conclusion of either signing isnt made in January.

As others have said, and Klopp, it will take time for him to get up to date with how we play.

That isn't an excuse.

That's a reason we should have been wary of signing him

Whenever I've seen VVD play - which isn't often admittedly - I've been impressed, and he is very quick for the sheer size of him. I don't know if it's any use talking about if he's "worth" the extravagant even outrageous fee, but I think he'll be a good player for us. Or is it pray?

As for Laporte, I think I've seen him play once or twice, but can't recall much. One thing I've been a little surprised about is all this talk of his pace and ability to play a high line. He's not that quick. VVD seems faster

From the little that I've seen, the VVD-Matip pairing is a bit wobbly as Matip seems to be doubting himself more playing alongside a record signing. Maybe VVD-Lovren would work better? If all else fails, Raggy should come in and deputise for all them bitches.

It doesnt take a genius to figure out that he wasnt much involved in pre season when he didnt play his first competitive match until the 30th of September. He also didnt play a game after 13th of December until the Everton game because of the transfer specualtion.

But that obviously wont effect his form, performance or adjustment to a new team or tactics under Klopp.
As anyone with half a brain knows you will perform quite well in the first game you're back but after that it can take a while. Its been confirmed by so many players and coaches that I've lost count. But his form is obviously a cause for concern already...... Lets just wright off the lad in February.

Our medical team and doctors didnt find anything but the word on the street in Dublin is that Van Dijks leg will fall off soon.

Look at how the club is treating any player returning from injury or even new signings, Ox was a sub for a month before getting a chance in the stsrting eleven, I guess its no surprise that a player with a massive fee/expectation and lack of playing time this season is being eased in

Indeed, and interestingly it's what we habitually did during the glory days. In fact we generally waited even longer then before introducing new signings, even the biggest ones, into the first team while they learned the ropes at LFC.

Pointless thread; it’s always going to take new players a few weeks to get match fit into our system. Ox took a few weeks and he was fit when he joined us.

Yep. I remember we'd buy someone and then get all excited because you might see them play in month or two. It pissed me off as I was so impatient but the older guys said Shankly would take much longer, six months training players in the reserves. No-one went straight into the starting side.

It makes loads of sense. They used to win stuff too. But they could go through entire seasons with thirteen players so I guess physicality was much less of an issue in a slower paced game.
