I really doubt that. That's a direct quote from Hodgson. Am fucking gutted. Toivonen was the one signing I was actually excited about. What are the odds he goes to Real and becomes the hottest young striker in Europe? I hate this and am losing whatever contrived faith I had in Hodgson every single day

Just saw his interview with BBC and the part regarding the Toivonen link. Doesn't seem like a smokescreen/mindgame to me. By naming those players as comparison to Toivonen, I guessed it means an out and out striker? It's 'funny' how we've seemingly put in a bid , got rejected and then come out and distant our self from any potential interest in that player.
