Surely it has to be a player who is not currently competing in European competition, so that has to rule the swede and the wolf fella out..

I don't rate him, at all, However I remember watching an England friendly a while back where he looked quite handy, but even so, we need a striker who can score goals, not another Emile Heskey wannabe...

I meant competing in European Competition. He will be Cup tied, pretty useless for us, as you would want Torres for the Premier League, the burden would then be on Torres to be available for both the League and Europe. The Striker we sign has to available to also play in Europa League.. makes sense really.

Im sure they would much prefer the services of Babel...

Wouldn't mind Cole acutally. He's apperantly available for 9 mill £, it's just about structuring a deal. Give them Lucas.

Carlton Cole is very like Heskey, so we might get one good season out of the big, fucking lummox, if he stays long enough

If Scott Parker moves then its gonna be Lucas.

I wouldn't mind Bent. He has scored goals for every club he has played for and has a bit of pace. However Steve Bruce will never do business with us so we can safely forget it. I'd take a punt on Carlton Cole!
 
I just watched his interview on the BBC and he basically alluded to the fact that Ola is more of a second striker by saying we already have Gerrard, Cole, Pacheco etc. and he's looking for someone who can do a bit of what Torres can.
 
Let's face it, when Granddad talks about a similar player to Torres, what he actually means is a big fucking Galoot up front, who can lumber about the place on his own

Ie Cole or Carew or Zamora
 
Well Torres may as well have been a Heskey today the way we just pumped balls up to him expectantly.
