So, Joe Allen...

All he is saying is that no one from our bench would walk into their starting XI. Not going to argue whether he's right or not but it's hardly the same as saying he didn't want Gerrard is it? Or have I missed something?

To be honest, I can understand where he's coming from prize-wise as we've been arguing the exact same thing with regards to Agger/Skrtel's value should Citeh be interested as they paid loads for Lescott.

You're right, I misread it, I saw him mention Suarez and assumed. Honestly though with Sigurdsson and Allen gone, I think Shelvey would make there starting like up.

this is great isn't it ? - before showing our over whelming desire to sign this guy very few people would have looked at him BUT now - he is your next Xabi Alonso. Fucking great !!! - I actually think we are incapable of operating in the modern transfer market with any kind of maturity one would expect of us.

Quite, that would be why we balked at Sigurdsson's wages and walked away.

Are we in so much financial stress as a club that we cannot go for any of our choice of players at this stage ? - is it really that bad at the club ? - the way this is all going I can honestly see us selling Suarez if a bid of £40M is made for him by Juventus.

Huw Jenkins was apperantly angry with Brendan or his agent for leaking info about the release clause.

That was just dumb to say the least if that was the case. We should have just done it on the quiet but by doing this its embarrassed their club and if all this stuff coming out from their manager is a load of tosh then I guess we are still in the chase for him.

So (I'm guessing) in your first post you were complaining because we've over hyped a player and as such are going to over pay for him, then in your next post you're moaning because we didn't over pay for someone? Right

No - I was moaning at the fact that we cannot on all accounts afford the 15M that was in the so called 'buy-out' clause. Just don't understand why this deal is taking so long and all the wrangling you hear in the press regarding 12.5M plus add-ons and Jonjo on Loan for a year. Everything is taking a long time this transfer window yet all the players we seem to want are splashed over every rumour site, paper you name it !!!

We're not the only team dragging our feet though Moron, only Arsenal and Chelsea seem to have done much business and their buys have been from abroad, the two players we've tried to tie up so far are both English based, so again we're seeing the saga drawn out. It hasn't helped that Allen has been at the Olympics, most teams in tournaments won't allow players to get distracted by negotiations. Now he's back hopefully we'll see some activity soon. I don't think we're financially great, so alot may be hinging on us waiting on players leaving too, unfortunately. Like I said, no one knows the ins and outs and it's harsh to start pointing fingers and screaming blue murder. It seems a combination of things, starting with last years waste of a transfer window and a succession of years before that of being hit and miss, paying extravagant fees and ridiculous wages to average players.

Needless to say I don't think it's us dragging our feet as much as it is us trying to offload players to come up with the funds for the deal.

We're going to see a whole new relentless obsession from you this season. This, right here, is the start.

You have absolutly no way of knowing this. We could have several bids lined up just waiting for confirmation.

Just because our transfer dealings arent public knowledge doesnt mean something isnt happening.

Scandos are proper positive innit.

Hansern (and others) - you should really stop disagreeing with everything I say just because you don't like me.

I'm inevitably right and I will remind you of it when you make posts like that in response to me

if you told them they should disagree with you would they start agreeing with you?

Proper positive? Seeing as nobody out there has a clue about our transfer dealings then his "guess" is as good as mine. Just because information has dried up doesnt mean nothing is happening.

We could be close to signing Allen, but we could also be nowhere near getting anyone in.
Barrett said Allen was a signing that would happen regardless of other deals in or out.
I'll take his word over Ross.

Hansern you took his and Evans word over mine on Kenny Huang.

Try common sense once in a while. It's fun being right.

We know lots of things about this deal, there's a release clause and all we have to do is bid and we get to talk to him.

Why don't we just do that? The simplest answer is usually the right one

I'm not disagreeing with you on everything but actually agree with you on several topics, proably more than not tbh.

Its more that you're acting like a gigantic obnoxious cunt these days and HAVE to be right about everything, even in discussions when you're wrong. The I know everything and you are all idiots attitude is shite.

Good point - never thought of it like that (i.e. players we are dealing with are PL based here). However, I do feel that the over spend on the players bought last year - have given all these clubs in the PL we are negotiating with a chance to take the piss at every chance.

Someone called him a 'disrespectful prick' for something he didn't quite say about us and all I did was pointing it out.

By the looks of it seems you are going to follow your same old obsession as the one of last Season and the Season before that and the Season before that and the Season before that and the... etc. etc.

You are one of my favourite secret admires you know that don't you?

Want to know what I think?
I think Fulham and Swansea are now getting twitchy that we don't seem to be falling over ourselves following up the initial bids for Allen and Dempsey, in fact they could be shitting themselves.

regards

I think you are on the ball.

Why Vlad?
Is this not the same way we fucked up signing Barry and Sigurdson amongst others.
While Arsenal go out and sign Cazorla, Podolski, Giroud, And Chelsea go sign Oscar, Marin and Hazard etc.
Were dawdly as fuck in the transfer window.
