So another thread about Coutinho

Of course we're getting carried away, but isn't that the point?
He's some diminutive Brazilian that is quite frankly, taking the absolute piss, from day one. what are we supposed to do, reserve judgement?

Fuck. That.

Endless fucking years of Bruno Cheyrou's, Vladimir Smicer's, Anthony Le Tallec's, Stewart Downing's, and finally we get handed this little fucker for I dunno, 7M was it?

He's about 3 foot yet hard as nails - none of this rolling around like a wet prune. He scores goals, he provides assists, he seems like actually a decent sort of kid. What's not to like? What's not there to assist in some serious hard-on-getting.

this is the sort of wee cunt, you,. me and everyone of us have been crying out for. Our own little bag of tricks that gets you off your seat and reminds you why you love the game.

Give me one of this guy over 500 other squad options any day of the week.

Sure it's impractical, sure he's only been here a fortnight sure he's yet to do it on the really big stage, but Christ look at him. When was the last time you watched a Liverpool player completely rip the dick out of the opposition?

He's see good he actually makes me laugh.

I'm on board with that shit.

He put Debauchy or however you spell it on his arse before the sending off too.

He's a star. He's silly good.

Everything Coutinho has shown us so far indicates he's going to be in the top four or five players in the world before long.

There's only two things he has left to prove: consistency and influencing the match against the better teams.

He's also going to have to get used to being man marked next year.

If he gets man marked next season it leaves more room for Suarez (assuming he stays) so it's great for the team to have two creative options for the teams to worry about.

I like the fact he was played through the middle, gives him more room to make an impact.

Hopefuly he can still perform on the cold Winter days...

If we line up like that against Everton he'll have no easy space & have the shit kicked out of him, so we'll see how he copes.

The beauty of his through passes, besides the accuracy and vision, is that he disguises them so well. Starting from the long pass down the right to Johnson at the 00:15 mark, and of course the ball to Sturridge for Henderson's goal. Think there was another one in there somewhere as well.

He seems to steal a quick look, and that's enough for him to get a good measure of the weight and direction of the pass required. At the point of making the pass, he doesn't even look up or at the target again and betray where his pass is going to. We've got a little precious gem here.

He can also do the look one way and pass the other way 🙂

What I like about the lad is his surprising strength on the ball. There were loads of examples in the toon game but have a look at how he shrugged off the challenge before hitting the post with a great strike late on. Knocking Ben Arfa off the ball to set up Sturridge as well was great. His technical skill is obvious also. The lad will be a superstar next year and win Young Player Of The Year. You heard it here first.

He has delivered so far.

Goals, assists and vision.

The lifted pass to Sturridge for the 3rd was utter class, it totally deceived the defenders as was the pass to Sturridge in th build up for the second. I totally expected it to go to Henderson first, as did the defenders.

It's also the vision to see the pass and execute that vision to a perfection. Not every time, but in his position it doesn't need to be every time.

We've had issues beating the big teams this year, but we've also had problems breaking teams down at home. With the balance between the brilliance of Coutinho and Suarez, the pace of Sturridge and Sterling, the work rate of Henderson and Gerrard being Gerrard, we have the options to break teams down in Plans A, B & C. Add to that, the attacking options of Enrique and Johnson and the improving consistency of Downing, then the future looks bright.

We need more depth to the squad but the players we have, can and should, challenge for Top 4 next year.

I think we are getting a little carried away here.

I don't think so. Clearly there's a long way to go, but in recent years the only players who have made this level of impact are Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres, both which carried on to be excellent. Coutinho's in their class already.

It always makes me nervous when young players start getting high praise early on. Not that long ago similar praise was heaped on Allen, Sterling, Shelvey etc etc. It takes time to develop and there will be ups and downs.

He looks a class above but he needs a little more time to be really convincing. Hopefully his English is rudimentary and he won't start to believe his own press.

Yeah and none of them has delivered like Coutinho has.

Seriously, new to the league, 20 years old, starts mid season, not fully fit.

Tally:

2 goals, 4 assists and tons of chances created.

Premier League top 5 accurate through balls per game: Cazorla - 0.83, Coutinho - 0.80, Silva - 0.52, Sissoko - 0.42, Wilshere - 0.41.

Anyone who has spent a winter's evening in Milan, Turin or Venice know how cold it gets in Northern Italy. But the UK media are a bunch of dim fuckwits who chortle and prattle on about doing it on a 'cold night in Stoke etc'
As always, they are fucking pathetic, lazy and thick.
