Sneijder or Negredo + 22M for Xabi

I think people forget how delicate this situation is and how much priority Rafa puts on having players who 'want' to play for us.

This whole situation has gone round in circles, to the point now where you could argue that Rafa could rightly feel, "fuck yer then". He's made a mistake last Summer in the way he handled Alonso, he came out and acknowledged Alonso's improvement and made a public plea (of sorts) for him to stay.

Since, Alonso has said pretty much fuck all. Kept his cards close to his chest and allowed speculation, most of which is eminating from Spain to run riot.

He wants to go, that much is obvious, so I wouldn't blame Rafa for preparing now for a season without Xabi and making the most of the situation AND going for the player who was obviously a big priorty for him.

Gossip, specaultion, whatever, it's fairly clear Alonso wants to go. He should at least have the balls to come out and make his intentions clear. My guess is he'll keep quiet, allow negotiations and then the transfer to go ahead and then come out and blame Benitez.

I don't think he'll blame Benitez - he's too professional for that.

Any leaving speech will be likely to include: "it was time to move on after 5 great years", "wanting to finish his career in Spain", "the interesting project of Real Madrid", etc.

I think the bitterness between Alonso and Benitez has been hugely overstated throughout the saga.

We are selling Xabi for what if not to recruit new players???

I dont believe for a second that Rafa wouldnt hold Xabi to his contract if he could see a way of strengthening the team without selling. Xabi hasnt got a leg to stand on, he likes the club and the fans and is has long contract he would not risk being onthe bench in world cup year....

anyway.... agree to disagree.... i'll leave it....

lets hope he satys and IF he goes then we get a good player in his stead.
[/quote]

you're twisting the truth so much it's laughable.

xabi wants to go.

given that, surely it's the best policy for everyone concerned to let him go now - cos he'll go in the end anyway - while his value is the highest it will ever be (due to contract length, form, age & market conditions) and put the proceeds towards as good a replacement (in terms of one player or more) as possible?

perhaps you think utd are a selling club just because they sold ronaldo to fund the valencia deal?

Maybe mate, I'm not painting Alonso as a cunt, he has been incredibly professional, if that's what you call 'keeping schtum'. I just think he'll keep quiet and let it all blow over. But the pressure might be on from our perspective for an 'answer'.

Maybe

I can't imagine his goodbye letter on the official reading "BLAME THE GOATEE CUNT FOR MY DEPARTURE"

Even if that is the case, he's got more than enough reasons to hide behind. He'll be spreading balls to Kaka, Ronaldo & Benezma next season - not too Xab..shabby.

The anger about his leaving IF he leaves will only become apparent after he starts doing just that squiggles... In many ways i think he will be a key signing for them, he will have some really really class players around him to pass to there for sure.

Im still hoping beyond hope that he aint going, manys the time when consistent transfer speculation results in fuck all... anyway I hope he stays because he is a class player. Im not that bothered he hasnt piped up and denied anything, he did after all suffer a lot of shit from Rafa last summer.

If the worst happens and we do sell then Rafa better make sure he fucks the Real cunts over for once... I like schneider ( or however you spell it ) and if we could do a fat deal cash wise then it could still turn out not to be such a disaster losing one of our key players.

I definitely think we should get REALLY EXCITED about replacing our Player of the Season with a handful of players not good enough to get into a Real Madrid side that we destroyed last season. And then get to spend the leftovers on Ashley Young or some such cunt. Cos Really "Alonso's only good at one thing anyway."

SO MUCH SO THAT I'M GONNA WRITE OUT OUR LINE-UP.

KUYT-----SNEIJDER---YER MA---.................

Fuck up.

I predict Xabi will be in for the shock of his life if he lines up for them. He will feel the pain of him and Diarra trying to cover the whole pitch while Kaka, Ronaldo, Raul and Benzema are all goal hanging. He will rue the day he gave up the comfort blanket of Mascherano., Kuyt and Riera/Yossi helping him out. He will come to truly understand the meaning of mobile and exactly how short of it he falls.

I hope not, but from the very minute they've been linked with him, it's been trouble for him, they turned his head, haven't followed through with the money, put him in a bad light with the fans, I don't think it's going to end there.

And yes you are indeed correct... selling Alonso is a bad bad move.

Some are clearly more interested in boo-hooing about it than thinking about where we go from here.

To be fair Oncy, you weren't looking to the future with your 'gets it & passes it' comment.
There is 'boo-hooing' about the feeling towards Xabi than the fact he might be leaving.

Why would I be scathing? I like you as a poster and usually agree with everything you have to say.

You are having a go at Ryan for giving out about people looking to the future.
It looks to me you are insuating that that is what you are doing.
I was pointng out that you are doing more than that with what you are saying in some of your posts.

I was also saying that there is more fuss from Xabi supporters about how Xabi has become an 'average player we can do without' all of a sudden in comparison to the people, like you, who have moaned about people who have voiced a displeasure that our player of last season will/might be leaving the club.

People have a right to be pissed off if one of our best players is being sold.
However much money we get, whoever we buy with the cash.

stu oncy is one of the few that has said he is not an average player but has been exploring the alternatives.

There are some that are wanting him out as he has not said anything about staying or leaving
