Skrtel

Guessing 20 mill bid and he's gone.

Of Skrtel and Agger, I'd rather keep Agger tbh. Hopefully his injury nightmare is over.

I don't really subscribe to this "sell him if he wants out" at all costs mentality.

If there is no-one is prepared to put in a big bid then there is no point selling. 15M is nothing. It'll cost us around that much to replace him unless we play a blinder in the market, which given our recent record I don't think anyone would stake their money on. We'd be better off forcing him to stay for another year and then perhaps selling him if he won't sign a new deal. He'll still be worth 8-10M with a year left on his contract... that is, if he is clever enough to keep up his good form and attract the sort of offers he's after.

Based purely on their health record, I'd keep Skrtel. I prefer Agger, but we need to ensure our best players are on the pitch.

Keni, we'll be smart about it. 15M isn't gonna cut it. 20M+ is the absolute minimum.

I'd be very surprised if he is still at LFC at the end of the window. I think only a monumental pay rise would do it.

It'll also take a monumental (or just plain mental) offer though. This looks like it could be Rodgers' first big test. He's not going to let the club get barebacked by any player, still less his representatives who are probably the ones driving this.

Rodgers certainly singing a different tune when compared to his quotes about our £35 million centre forward.

Yet I truly believe he will keep Carroll & is trying to motivate him by making him prove himself to him, & that he's resigned to Skrtel going & is posturing to get the best price.

Maybe I'm mad, but I believe Rodger's is astute & his actions in regards to Carroll belie that if he truly wants rid at the best price.

This.

And maybe, just maybe, we will see enough from Kelly and Coates in the next year to make an expensive replacement unnecessary.

Be gutted if Skrtel leaves, he's probably my favourite Liverpool player along with Suarez.
In saying that, if he's not committed then we need to get as much £ for him as possible and replace him as best we can.

It's a tricky situtation with him only 2 years left on his contract. Obviously not ideal if he does't sign a new contract and we have an unhappy player at the Club who's value is decreasing with his Contract running out.

Zenit enter race to sign Kop star Skrtel as defender stalls over new deal

Zenit St Petersburg have joined the chase for Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel and hope to tempt him with a £110,000-per-week deal.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants to keep the centre half, 27, but a new contract has yet to be agreed, with Napoli and Manchester City also interested.
Zenit sold Skrtel to Anfield for £6.5million in 2008 but would offer £14m to bring him back.
They are also keen on Manchester United's 31-year-old striker Dimitar Berbatov.
