It's true.

The whole arsenal being dicks & Suarez being put in his place has hidden the fact we've bumbled round switching targets, or choosing multiple players without commiting, each time only to be beaten to the signature cos we've fucked around too long.

Or maybe we're trying not to waste money like we did before?

Soldado? Overpriced and not what we needed if we kept Suarez.

Willian? Seems well overpriced again for his record.

Armenian fella, it's widely reported that we didnt even get to talk to him.

I'm just of the opinion that with all the social media, there's a load of nonsense being written that is being credibility by people we have no idea are credible.

Lets judge when the window is done and look at it then.

I'm not sure that's true. We signed a number of players promptly with little fuss (Toure, Aspas, Alberto, Mingolet) and tried to sign another top target in Milkybalhblah but missed out because his agent refused to do business with us for whatever reason. If we had signed him we would pretty much have had our business wrapped up.

I think that's true, but I wonder if it might miss an important point. Was our strategy too focused on signing Mkhitaryan, a rare type of player who was always going to be hard to get?

It just seems to me that missing out on him has left us kind of casting around for unconvincing alternatives. Both Wilian and Costa, for example, look very different both from each other and from Mkhitaryan. I think we were probably unwise to invest so much planning in one fairly ambitious target.

Ribery scored 11 goals in all competitions last season and still was voted #3 player in Europe behind Messi and Ronaldo. Goals are not the ultimate measure of performance for wingers.
