CHELSEA AFTER RONALDO
Well, balls out stuff from The Daily Mail and/or Chelsea here.

Everyone's favourite paper reports that Jose Mourinho, on his way back to Chelsea, wants to take Mr Cristiano Ronaldo with him.

The paper claims Manchester United have first dibs on Ronaldo, should he leave Real this summer, but Chelsea want to nab him and make a few people rather annoyed.

Chelsea are also keen on Wayne Rooney and Edinson Cavani, it says here, but Ronaldo would be the big prize.

Given there are questions about Mourinho and Ronaldo's relationship, one does wonder if he has more loyalty to his current club, or his current boss.

Or whether that charming old quality of loyalty comes into it at all...

CESAR OFF TO ARSENAL
The Daily Mirror sound pretty definite with their story claiming Arsenal are in for a new keeper, and that keeper goes by the name Julio Cesar.

The paper claims that the Brazilian keeper has been told that he can leave QPR, and with the goalie situation still a little uncertain over at the Emirates, the former Inter man might be a good fit for Arsene Wenger's side.

The Mirror reports: 'QPR are likely to allow the 33-year-old, who they signed on a free, go cheaply so they can get his £70,000-a-week contract off the books and they are convinced the Emirates is his most likely destination.

'However, Arsenal have a strong short-list of candidates at his position, including Hamburg's Rene Adler, Stuttgart's Sven Ulreich and Asmir Begovic of Stoke.'

ARSENAL CLOSE ON SANOGO
If you missed it on Friday, Arsene Wenger confirmed that he is close to signing a promising young striker from France (yeah yeah, laugh it up) by the name of Yaya Sanogo.

Click here for some details on that one.

BARCA WANT REINA
We've seen this a number of times and we're still not buying it, but The Daily Mirror reports that Barcelona want Pepe Reina to replace Victor Valdes in nets.

The paper claims Reina is Barca's 'number one target' to take Valdes' place, after the incumbent keeper told them he wouldn't sign a new contract at the club.

The paper also claims: 'Barcelona also have Borussia Monchengladbach's rising star Marc-Andre ter Stegen on their hit-list.

'The 21-year-old German could cost £14m and would be seen as a successor for Reina down the road and would provide competition until he's ready to take over.

'Meanwhile, busy Barca are also confident of signing Villarreal keeper Adrian Ortola, 19, after beating off competition from Arsenal.'

WEIMANN ON HIS WAY?
Now this would be a blow to Aston Villa.

Andreas Weimann's agent says the Villa striker has a few offers from other places, raising the possibility that he might do one in the summer.

"Andi will stay in the Premier League but at which club I don't know," Rob Groener said.

"There are offers but we'll first meet Villa."

The Metro reckons Liverpool are keen.

AND THE REST...
Giorgos Karagounis is set to leave Fulham...Nathan Dyer is closing in on a two-year contract extension at Swansea...James Chester is in the middle of a tug of war between Newcastle and Aston Villa...Gareth McAuley has signed a new two-year deal at West Brom...Everton are interested in Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi...Former Scotland boss Craig Levein wants to return to management at Doncaster...Fulham have agreed a deal with Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng...Dennis Wise is interested in becoming Millwall manager...Hull boss Steve Bruce is planning a triple raid on Wigan for Ben Watson, Emmerson Boyce and Shaun Maloney...Nigel Adkins insists Alex McCarthy is going nowhere...Brad Guzan's fairytale rise at Aston Villa will clinch him a new pay deal...Manuel Pellegrini is planning showdown talks with Carlos Tevez when he takes over at Manchester City...Martin Jol has no plans to quit Fulham and will prove it by ripping up his squad this summer.

We've been linked to Weimann before, is he any good ?

Seriously - how are the Financial Fair Play Rules going to work if Chelsea spend £100m in players this season.

I can't see UEFA having the balls to throw them out of the CL for overspending - but they become irrelevant if they don't.

Because we've seen no proof yet that the FFP will actually work or be followed through with.
Chelsea and City have two different ways of dealing with it, chelsea seem to be going down the route of 'turning the debt into equity' or so they say, and roman writing it off so it looks like they make a profit every year. I guess kinda like getting a mortgage every year, buying a new house, then the bank writing off the debt - they get a loan from abramovic and he keeps cancelling it and telling them to keep it.
City on the other hand sponsor themselves.
These clubs with billionaire owners will have access the the very very best accountants and lawyers and find ways round the FFP so it wont effect them. It'll only hammer clubs that dont have those resources.

Platini has shut his big mouth, since 2 French clubs have been taken over by billionaires

Coincidence?

Not bad, but I'm often surprised by how highly he gets praised on here. He'll cost lots and I think we can do better.

Agreed again!

I don't think we should sign any keeper currently plying his trade in the Premiership.
