would anyone accept robinho + 20/30m for torres?

I could be interested if it meant that the cash excess would be invested in another striker (i.e. eto'o).
That would be one of the worst deals in our history.
i'm not saying that we should go ahead with it, but I would be interested in considering it, especially in light what striker could be bought (and assuming all excess cash would be invested) - i.e. eto'o, benzema etc.

you would have a team like this:

---------------new world class striker------
robinho/cole-------cole/robinho-----kuyt---
-------------------gerrard----cm----------------

Yeah but the deal you propose values Robinho at around 40M, which is absurd.

It'd take some doing to get raped more than Barca did on the Ibra deal but that would probably do it.

ideally, I was hoping robinho would be valued at 30m with torres at 60m mark, which is not an unrealistic valuation.

Why should Robinho be valued at 30M?

They bought him for around 35M, he's not worked out for them and ended up retreating back to his comfort zone at Santos. Unless they sell him to another cash rich club like Shaktar who want to make some sort of statement with his signing, they should be forced to take a big loss.

fair point, but I think his age, talent and performance at world cup (he was not that bad) suggest that he is still a high value target and although a loss is warranted, it would not be that big.

however, in principle would you be interested in him if there was a torres deal on?

For 12-18 months, he was brilliant at Real Madrid. I don't know all the ins and outs of him eventually leaving Madrid (unless it simply was chasing the money on offer at Chelsea) but it was a bad bad move for him. He's undoubtedly talented, but I don't think he's right for us.

Fuck Robinho.

He doesn't like the North West, so what's the point in bringing him to Liverpool?

He's a very good player when he wants to be, but they way he performs on away games is an absolute disgrace, and it's no wonder why the City fans bloody hate him. He's been a disaster.

Talksport news said about an hour or so ago that Masher is definitely going (as we now know) and Torres has said he will return to Liverpool on Monday and will be staying.

Keeping two out of three is as good as anyone could have hoped for, let's be honest.

Yup. I think it was always going to happen with Masher, the big disappointment would have been if Torres or Stevie left.

I hope we get Scott Parker anyway.

Reason for hope maybe?
Roy is sounding much more authoritative these days. At the beginning, he sounded like he was drowning, but since the Cole signing he seems much more confident. A big relief, because we really need a stable influence at the club.
Thank god, he was sounding a little weak and under confident at the start, like we'd have another Roy part 2 - everyone's bff.

Are they the same people who yesterday had it on, apparently, good authority that he was going?

Yeah. This was on their news though (so they're just reporting what's been said elsewhere). Not just where a load of bellends who know fuck all, sit around pretending to have sources that know Torres 100% 'might' join Chelsea.

So, not one journo asked about the takeover? Fuck me.

*signs up for the dark side of te force*

*nods*

Mascher was going to leave even if we got Diego himself to be our new manager, so let's just get a good solid kicker-cum-DM-cum-bundle of energy to play and we will be in good shape for the first game vs the Arse.
