Roy when asked about Torres

I'm assuming Kenny knows a lot more about what is going on than we do and he seems to be convinced Torres is staying.

I'm clinging on to this thought for dear life!

How so?
People laughed when Roy let on he didn't know what was happening with Cole and then two days later we signed him. Of course he knows what is going on, don't let the act fool you.

Thats just another very good example of not to believe anything the press tells us, and that Roy holds his cards close to his chest.

What was the first thing Joe and Roy said after he had signed, that they had a long chat were they talked about the clubs ambitions and what kind of players Roy wants to sign.

Of course they did, no one in their right mind would think otherwise. Except the media and some of our fans who doesn't like Roy.

It's shocking how genuinely vacuous one or two posters are on here. Harping on about how Roy hasn't a clue about what's going on at the club because he refers the media to Purslow when he prefers not to expand further on a particular subject.

Just like when poor doddering old Roy was clueless when he told the press he'd had a brief chat with Joe Cole but they'd need to speak with Purslow regarding any further progress. THREE DAYS BEFORE HE SIGNED FOR LIVERPOOL.
It's not shocking at all, mate. It's actually as predictable as the sunrise.

It's unfortunate. And silly. But it's not the least bit shocking.
Wow. Bilko and Whadders agreeing again. And wrong again.

Let's be honest here, Old Uncle Roy isn't really that important in the grand scheme of things.

If they'd wanted inspiration, immediate excitement and loyalty to a new manager, then Old Uncle Roy would have been about 100th on the list. Would Joe Cole have signed for Fulham if Old Uncle Roy and Purssssslow had been in their respective positions at Craven Cottage?

Would. He. Fuck.

He's signed because it's Liverpool. Because of our fans and history. Because of players like Gerrard.

OUR and Pursssslow have had little to do with it.

Same goes for Torres. All he cares about now is the players he will be playing with, and how good they are. He wants to stay at Liverpool, but investment is required ideally. It's irrelevant what O.U.R says.

For what it is worth Paddy Power has got Liverpool at 2-5 odds to have Fernando with us next season.

It means that if you bet £5 that Torres stays, you will only win £2 if he does stay. So the bookies think it's more likely that he will stay.

Ah so... but it does not make sense. If the bookies know he is staying they will offer 10 for 1.

So, what Rafa4PM was to Rafa, you are 180 degrees the opposite of that when it comes to Roy...

No matter what happens to LFC during his tenure here, you'll find a way to make him 0% responsible for the successes, whilst simultaniously aportioning him a decent share of the responsibilities for the failures.

Durham on Talksport claims (is adamant) that they have two separate "excellent" sources saying that a 56m deal for Torres to go to Chelsea is a done deal.

They've been having a phone-in about it for the last hour or so.

He's also bizarrely mentioned (once) that another source says it isn't done, but is still acting as if it's done and dusted.
I guess the good news is that Durham is a fucking idiot.
Quite, but he's really sticking his neck out on this and stating plainly that his sources are 100% correct (as of this moment!)

If it's a "done deal" there should be no "of this moment" about it as it's "done".

any excuse not to do work...

For what it's worth Carra has just done an interview were he says he thinks Torres is staying.

Paddy Power's suspended betting on Fernando going to Chelsea.

Percentage wise, guess that mean's he's staying then.
Does that not mean they think he IS going to Chelsea?
