What no love? Do people still think he's a chancer or a bit of a gob shite? He's picked off three of the best teams in the league this season and put 14 goals past them, while we looked brilliant at times against City too.

Kudos, he's been a revelation in many respects, give the turn around he's managed in 18 months. None of this five year plan bollocks, just terrific football and some brilliant buys (yes I know he's bought dross aswell).

He's been fantastic. The results alone are very very impressive, but to do in such style has been thrilling. I don't think he's particularly lovable, though, as a character, so he'll probably never get as much credit as he should.

Hey ! I gave him 10/10 in the match ratings !

Wonderful job so far, all done with a huge dollop of panache (the team that is) ! I particularly admire the way he is willing to give young players a chance (Flanno, Sterling, Coutinho, Smith and now Ibe) that's 50M+ saved right there, and his attacking ethos (goes without saying I'd rather that, and concede more goals that we should, than much of the dross we've seen over the past few years).

Yeah, he's seems to have some kind of disconnection with the fans, it's almost refreshing really, the lack of affinity with him stops me getting a bit blind about him either way.

As you say though, the character and style we're showing makes it all the more satisfactory, we're playing some devastating football.

He is very much a five year plan man. Except he didn't make the mistake of telling the media.

I also reckon he's ahead in his five year plan. Our minds will be blown away next season 🙂

He's a top bloke, all I really wanted when he joined was for him to get us playing like Swansea, and he's done that. And he's also brought through youth players and brought in some in some quality whilst shipping out all the shit. You can't ask for more than that.

I think maybe he's a little bit vain, a little bit serious, to really inspire the mass adulation that Rafa and Houllier did. Guess you could say it's a bit like Owen v Fowler.

But personally I like him, and anyway, as you say, I don't think it's a bad thing.

Rodgers: "We shifted it about tactically. We played Daniel Sturridge through the middle to try to exploit his speed centrally. Luis Suarez played in a wider role today and put in a selfless job.

"We switched Raheem Sterling over to the left side to penetrate and to control Sagna a little bit. Overall, the players were tactically brilliant and you saw their appetite and hunger for the game. That was important for us.

"We were brilliant today, a wonderful performance in such a prestigious game between the two teams. We do a lot of work on our pressing. I always feel if we press well, we can pass well.

Disconnection with the fans? not very lovable? wtf?

First time ive ever seen/heard that sort of stuff said about him.

The blokes class, has been since he walked through the door in very difficult circumstances, to turn us around in the way he has in such a short space of time is remarkable really, we are very lucky to have him, i certainly love him!

Credit to him, allowing players to play in their natural positions, giving youth a chance and attacking well. Esp Re coutinho, playing him where he can hurt

The guy knows what he's doing. He's got a team of not world beaters playing to their strengths.

Stevie going deeper, the front 3, coutinho in the hole 'he does what he wants' it's taken time but he's hit upon a very credible and formidable set-up. He also appears to a man that learns from his mistakes in regards to formations and 11's that don't work.

plenty of emotion during the game and a very cool & collected post-match brief, he's got a bit of class about him.

I'm a Massive fan of Brodgers

He's growing with the team. There are issues with the team that I still feel he has neglected, but I see in him less stubbornness than both Houllier and Rafa. That's really the key.

Once bitten (or in our case, many times bitten) and twice shy and all that, but I'm cautiously confident about him.

Most managers wouldn't have had the balls to play Coutinho amongst one of the middle three against Everton and Arsenal. Can't believe how well that's worked and my god is Coutinho great at getting past 2-3 players in congested areas in our half. That dribble + through ball was majestic.
Well done to Rodgers.

It wasn't meant as a slight, he just hasn't got the same level of warmth that people had with Houllier, Benitez and Dalglish. It'll come though.

today he played with more freedom in the first 45 minutes than any other player i've seen in the prem for years ; he tinged it with an impressive work rate.

I've been bantered at work for backing Henderson since he signed but he's finally starting to show maturity in his performances too.

He also deals with the press superbly.

I think he's still too open with them. He tries to answer every question directly, which is a good attitude but it does mean that his comments get twisted so he then has to respond to the 'We can win the title'/'We can't win the title' headlines that seem to alternate through the weeks. But it's all a learning experience.

Yup, talks too much. Way too much.
But as far as his work with the squad goes, he's done a brilliant job.

During the game today 1:28pm:

Phil Kirkbride: Rodgers vents his frustration as Jordan Henderson launches a ball long when Liverpool won it back. He is demanding perfection. So incensed was he with a loose Toure pass that he ignored Liverpool’s attack and whistled to get Toure’s attention. All the players stopped because they thought the ref had blown up!

To think people used to view Rodgers as all talk and little substance to back it up.
Words that have always been on tip of his tongue, such as 'technically and tactically' were put down as typical football jargon. Well, now we're seeing it. Just look at the improvements in the likes of Henderson and Sterling.

He's doing a superb job, we're not there yet but no-one thought we would be in only his 2nd season at a Club that's been on a downward spiral for the best part of 5 years.

One Brendan Rodgers

Well said and I agree. He certainly is turning out to be the real deal. At the time I was all for AVB. Just another example of how I know fuck all about football. 😳

He's been superb and I'm a big fan. He talks with authority and I think he'll grow even further with the job.

The whole Being Liverpool thing was a catastrophe simply in that he was thrust in the deep end anyway, without having to play the part in front of the cameras. He was learning as he was going along and was just too exposed.

We've definitely changed momentum as a club and Rodgers can take great credit for his contribution. His ability to attract players was originally questionable, but I think he's getting to a stage where people will want to play for him, particularly if we can get Champions League football.

Gotta admit it was just a shrug of the shoulders when we appointed him, didn't know what to make of it, was more towards van Gaal if anything.

Didn't take long to buy into Rodgers though, even with the bad start, he had me sold was his vision and postive game plan.
