Not Spaggy Legs. Chastened. Who is Irish. It was established very soon after he joined. I just assumed he was a Man U supporting mate of someone already posting myself.

I 100% think this is the case. Could even be someone I know. How would a united fan randomly find us and bother joining up. I don't think it's Ross. Why be so respectful and ignore obvious baiting? If it is someone on a wind up, why play so nice and act so normal?

Saying that, he is causing no trouble so doesn't deserve any grief, well apart from who he supports of course. 😉

“I must say, watching him play in the matches for Southampton which caused me to select him, watching him in the game against Costa Rica when he played, he didn’t seem to have too many problems coping with the physical side of the game.

Hodgson: "Dear Louis, little Lukie looked good at the World Cup, he seemed okay to me."

“That doesn’t mean to say he can’t be fitter and if Louis thinks that he can get him fitter then I’m sure he will certainly have our approval. But I think when he [Van Gaal] talks to [Mauricio] Pochettino then Pochettino will say to him: ‘What you were saying to Luke Shaw and what you’ve been saying to him, is what I was actually saying to him’.

Van Gaal: "He's fat. He's too fat. He's fatter than Frank Lampard. Fat is not good for the Louis Van Gaal team principles."
Hodgson: "Dear Louis..."
Van Gaal: "And who are you? Why are you calling me Louis? Nobody calls Louis Van Gaal Louis. That's a stupid name. Louis."

“He [Shaw] might have had it mentioned to him a couple of times during the World Cup when we were together by people like myself and [physiotherapist] Gary Lewin. So I think he’s been aware of it, Luke, and he will get fitter and stronger, not least of all because he’s still a very young man and his body has not yet reached its proper proportions for the level he wants to play at.”

Hodgson: "Oh yes, yes. Now that you mention it, yes, I remember now. I did talk to 'lil Lukie in Brazil and told him to stay off the ice cream and churrasco. He's way too fat. He's way way too fat."
Van Gaal: "Glad you now agree. Now go rub your face. Van Gaal is busy buying new curtains for the club mess. So horrible colours they use here. And those chairs.. they should have 5 legs, not 4... because 5 legs offers extra balance. This is a lot of mess, I need time to sort all this out. Oh... and who are you again?"

I'm not up for giving whoever it is grief. If he is a genuine Manc then I'm happy for him to be here. I just think he's a bit weird.

@Red Astaire

Oh I agree. I do find it baffling that he'd want to log on here after his team had been thrashed by MK Dons. If we lost to Spurs the weekend I wouldn't be arsed logging into Red Café to hold my hands up and lament our defeat. I wouldn't give united fans the satisfaction to gloat in my misery and patronize me with back handed sympathy. That's just me though. I get enough of that in work, because I have to go there. I don't have to subject myself to it on the internet.

Then again Rouge Penguin had a successful posting career here and he was a Newcastle fan. On a side note, RP was a great poster and even attended Drinkies with Oncy.

People suspect you may be a former member of the site masquerading as a Utd fan. Others don't.

This happens to many new members of the site.

It's like when the gang bumped into Ben Linus in the woods in that episode of Lost. They didn't know whether to trust him or not. The new Manc is our Ben Linus.

WE ASK THE MUTHA FUCKING QUESTIONS MUTHA FUCKA!

Richard Harrow would have done this though:

"You asked a good question."
* walks over slowly, and pauses *
"But you asked a question."
* cold stare *
"Here you don't ask the questions."
* loads a round in the chamber*

Depends.

If he was answering the questions, everything woulda been gravy.

If not not, he would have looked to Jimmy/Nucky for the next move.

If the Manc hadda stepped to Tommy.....SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIT!

It's true. And before you suggest it there is absolutely nothing paranoid about us ... as sane as they come.

As previously stated, I'll never, EVER understand a Manc wanting to log onto a Liverpool forum to chat about his team, our team or football in general when there are forums dedicated to his own team. Just fucking weird. Even once, let alone constantly. Just a very odd way to behave however you are received or how welcome you might be made.

Well, this is kinda' funny. 😀

England boss Hodgson wrong to criticise Shaw, says Van Gaal

Reuters, Friday August 29 2014

LONDON, Aug 29 (Reuters) - England manager Roy Hodgson was wrong to criticise Luke Shaw's fitness and the defender is an "example" in the changing room, Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal said on Friday.

Having joined United from Southampton for around 30 million pounds ($49.74 million) after the World Cup, Shaw was told by Van Gaal during a pre season tour of the United States that he was "not very fit".

Shaw has since missed the start of the Premier League season with a hamstring injury and England manager Hodgson has come out and said the youngster struggled with his fitness at the World Cup.

But fiery Dutchman Van Gaal dismissed Hodgson's claims and believes the 19-year-old has reacted in the perfect manner to the criticism he has faced.

"I have read nasty articles about him (Shaw)," Van Gaal told reporters ahead of his side's trip to promoted Burnley on Saturday.

"In the United States I said to him 'you came not fit'. But I changed his programme and he did everything that he was to do to be fit and now he is an example in the dressing room.

"He is not fit now because he is injured but Roy Hodgson cannot judge him because I have never seen him here at a training session."

Van Gaal is yet to register a competitive victory since taking charge at United, claiming just one point from two league games and suffering the embarrassment of a 4-0 League Cup thrashing at third-tier MK Dons on Tuesday.

Yet the former Bayern Munich boss is adamant he will be a success at Old Trafford if he is given time to develop his own playing style.

"I am confident I will succeed here but I need time," Van Gaal said. "We are building up a new team. I have said many times that I need time.

"It always takes three months. Players are used to other philosophies."

Argentina winger Angel Di Maria joined from Real Madrid for a British-record 59.7 million pounds this week and is likely to make his debut against Burnley but fellow new signing Marcos Rojo will miss out because of work permit issues.

United have spent over 130 million pounds during the transfer window and with Monday's deadline drawing nearer, Van Gaal said there could be some comings and goings at Old Trafford after some players have failed to impress.

"I give my opinion and the player can do what he wants with that opinion," Van Gaal said.

"Before I started, I said that I shall give every player a fair chance and I have done that. I have given players a chance before Sept. 1 to move or not.

"I don't think it was good if I came as manager and wanted 11 new players. I have given the players a chance here."

I discuss football with all sorts of fans, not just Liverpool ones. I expect most on here are the same.

A Utd fan joining this board is just the natural extension of that.
