We haven't had a family holiday abroad for a few years now and are hoping to get away in May half term for a week. However, the cost for a family of four is astronomical. Go a few days before school breaks up and the cost is a third, sometimes a half cheaper. I've never ever kept my kids off school but holiday companies are taking the piss with their mark up. Both my kids are in juniors and aren't currently in particularly important years. To keep them off on a 'sicky' could see me landed with a hundred quid fine so it'll be a case of speaking to the headmaster and blagging that we've had the holiday bought as a present, exceptional circumstances blah blah blah.
Am I right to keep them off for two days?
