Yep, it was a good call Rory.

So why don't you think it worked?

I think it did work.

We have converted harder chances this season and scored scruffier goals. There were some instances whereby we made bad passes/choices but on the whole there were enough good shots taken.

Cool. That's pretty much how I saw it, but I hate thinking it was just 'one of those days' & there isn't another reason!

A lot of fans feel that and its understandable but my line of thinking is as follows:

- Aggers header vs Southampton at home
- Sterlings shot across Federici at home vs Reading
- Suarez's goal vs Newcastle
- Suarez & Henderson's scruffy goals vs Arsenal away
- Sturridge & Gerrard's smashing shots from outside the box vs City away

None of those goals were clear-cut chances yet those goals got us two 1-0 wins, one 1-1 draw and two 2-2 draws i.e. the goals were crucial in earning points.

The positions we got into yesterday were better than those listed above. Those listed above went in the net and yesterday, the keeper made some very good saves.

There's a significant difference between this display and the ones earlier in the season. First of all we didn't lose 1-0, due to football suicide, and our CB purchase(s) this summer will be a huge factor in whether that is so with any frequency next season. Also, we created good chances, rather than not getting any penetration, this was just a question of poor finishing and good keeping.

Still, in the way that the scoreline was exactly the same, the games were the same.

Sturridge still looks quite raw at times, and his form has not been as good of late. He could go either way next season.

Shooting straight or close to the keeper does not mean the keeper had a stormer. Hardly any of the saves were shots going Into to the corner. A finisher like fowler would have had a hatrick regardless of keepers form. Too many times we congratulate the keeper when strikers don't hit the corner of the net.

Suarez and co only have them self to blame. Sometimes Suarez slips back to last years finishing form going for power over accuracy.

^^^ The fucking ultimate armchair football fan. Criticising a player who's scored 29 goals in a fucking rubbish team for not putting "shots into the corner".

Fuck off.

Sturridge apperantly needs injections to play. So his form will be a bit hit and miss for the remaining 5 games.
A good pre season and same fitness programme as Agger/Gerrard and he'll be ace next season.

arm chair my arse, I go to matches twat and I am entitled to my opinion. I was just saying that if Coutinho, Sturridge, Gerrard or Suarez had finished better the last two games instead of giving the keeper a chance we would be 4 points better off.

Suarez this season has been superb, but there have been a few games unfortunately when his issues from last season on finishing have come back. problem for him is other players did not step up for him.
