It's a crap result but it has to said that of our 15 shots on target at least 8 of them were goals were it not for that Red Bull snorting fucker McCarthy

It was insane. We had 20 odd chances and should have scored 4.

In the end not enough quality infront of goal. Tbh I thought we were quite good bar the goals.
Thats what matters though, so it counts for fuck all.

Cant criticise the performance too much, but we can criticise the finishing which wasn't good enough.

Another very disappointing and frustrating 0-0. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Have to say that Luis has got to start taking his eye off the golden boot award, he has been far too selfish the last few games.

I've always considered 'finishing' a core competent of football performance; particularly since it's the object of the game. Therefore, we were shite again.

We're improving. Apparently.

Come on, be fair, 4 points better off than after 33 games last season is clear and undeniable improvement in anyone's eyes.... if you discount winning the League Cup and 'not embarrassing ourselves' in the FA Cup and ignore the fact our best defender is retiring and our best midfielder is another year older and our best forward player is 12 months closer to the exit door.

Thes season hasnt been good enough at all. But 6 more points, 12 more goals compared to 38 games and 1 league place higher. We're certainly not going backwards, but nor have we moved forward as much as we should.

The dwonward spirral from 2010 seems to be broken at least.
Imho we're progressing. But fair enough if people dont think so. Thecup run argument is a poor one. When have we ever gone far in a cup tournament the year after a win/final anyway??

I reckon the fact the we have taken home a miserable 2 points out of what should be an easy 6 along with other shit performances against relegation fodder this year is down to management and motivation failures. Even though McCarthy had a blinder there was still a half hour period where they had us on the ropes, this should'nt happen against Reading, too many players look like they can't be arsed. Have they reached this seasons points tally target and been told to get to the seasons end injured? 0-0 against Reading FFS

Had us on the ropes??? Behave yourself. They had a few chances against the run of play which is liable to happen from time to time.

We had 26 shots, and 15 on target for crying out load. If we played shite and didn't create many chances then by all means have a go at the Manager but today's result was a mixture of great goalkeeping, poor decision-making and finishing and bad luck.

Half an hour of being on the ropes is an exaggeration but there was a fifteen minute spell in the second half where Reading were on top and really should have scored.

well its been long enough after the game for me to have a fairer idea of things. We were good, poor decision making in front of goal cost us essentially, suarez did well to lift it over the keeper in the first half when he should have blasted it past him, sturridge held the ball up really well at times but people could never get there feet sorted when they received it in the box, gerrard was probably the only player who made the right decision in his shot at the top right corner of the goal but a save as good as any ive seen all season kept it out.

As well as this reading played well, ok not brilliantly or anything, but they probably played well enough to earn the draw, We had some great link up play in the first half and the end of the second we just need to sort out the mentality, as someone said (maybe hansern) when we're drawing on the 70th minute onwards the fans and the players just expect a draw at best, we really need to sort this mentality out, the problem is the only way to do it is to get used to grinding out wins.

Oh please mate, you can't be serious??? We battered them.

Fair enough maybe a half hour is an exaggeration, I apologise if I'm wrong, in my shallow defense I was a bit stressed during a short period ofthe game, but what a do remember is dominating the first half and pummeling their goal only to release our grip and allow them a series of chances and give away free kicks around our box, it seemed our midfield switched off, home or away, this was Reading it shouldn't happen

think they defended well without resorting to parking the bus tactics, they played better today than they have for a while

Whatever way you look at it, they didn't deserve a point. They deserved to get beat 4 or 5 nil at least and were incredibly lucky.

9-28 in shots and 2-11 in shots on goal.
We should have won by 3-4 goals.

We've actually got the most shots in European league football. So we're at least creating chances, but are a bit crap at scoring reguarly.

So I've just got in from 'managing' four pre-teens at Drayton Manor Park. What happened? why 0-0 against the dire shite of Reading.

Have to say that Luis has got to start taking his eye off the golden boot award, he has been far too selfish the last few games.

I disagree. He's always this selfish in front of goal, but usually he's a bit more clinical so the fact we get a goal or rebounded chances from that selfish play means you don't analyse it so much.

Some games (like today) we score. And score loads.
Other times the keeper has a worldy and we struggle.
Readings keeper stopped us scoring.
I dont see the issue. These results have been frustrating, but its hardly a big deal.
I think we have progressed a lot, we look a much better side and have a much younger hungrier squad.
Im very excited about next season.

Its just one of "those days". Trouble is we have too many of "those days" these days.
I look forward to next season where we have exactly one of "those days"

FYI - Average position of Liverpool players vs Reading.

It was the kind of set up I posted in the preview i.e. Sturridge to start with Suarez and Couthinho tucked in to link up with Henderson & Gerrard with the full backs to provide the width.
