I still have a soft spot for Rafa but that doesn't extend in the slightest to wishing him success at that horrible club with it's horrible owner.
How I view Rafa in the future will be determined by how he interacts with the Chelsea fans and players and I suspect it is not going to end well.
Goatees and fatness go hand in hand though innit. The former often being a symptom of the latter.
This goes beyond our loyalties to him now though, they're one of our rivals (in the grand scheme of things, call us what you will) and one we've grown fiercely hostile with over the last decade. When he came here, he was immediately embraced as one of our own and the CL win just compounded that. He made mistakes and eventually took a not unreasonable amount of criticism, but most people cherished the memories and thought fondly of him, hoping he'd go on and do well elsewhere with a club that deserved him.
Chelsea have one of the worst fanbases in the Premiership, they don't understand what it's like to have banter, charisma and a personality as a club. They've got lucky, been pumped continuously with cash and had a grinning village idiot on the side lines clapping along while going all Mr Hyde as soon as a couple of bad results and a bit of shaky form kicks in. They've got no soul. They've got John Terry, one of the most despicable and despised figures in the game, whom rather aptly is the face and mirror image of what culture they have got, ie none, just flag waving, toothless grins and a subsection of cunts who think their either Phil Mitchell or Ray Winstone, ecstatic that they're able to rub shoulders with Italian's in raincoats, just to add to their glitzy delusion that they're The Firm of the football world, the club everyone wants to be, run by a criminal mastermind pumping money in for handshakes and winks over the casino table.
Their fans don't want him, such is their self glorifying opinion, that he's beneath them because he managed us. He would probably do well there, as he's proved in the past, when given a side and not asked to build one, he gets on with what he does best - outthinking opponents (particularly in Europe) and picking the best side, without the distractions of spending erratically and getting drawn into boardroom and media squabbles. Perhaps he's learned his lesson on that note, though I feel Rafa will always be too stubborn for his own good, and it will always, eventually, be his undoing at any club.
So wish him well? No fucking chance. To wish him well would be to give them cunts our blessing, to accept them to lineup under a manager with more integrity than they deserve. They're using him for a season to keep them in the CL and try to retain their crown. If they get knocked out the expectation in the league will increase, and I fear that's where Rafa is likely to falter. And given the knives are out on the terraces already (nothing new there), he doesn't stand a chance. While I'll hate to see him ridiculed by them cunts, it'll be no less than he deserves for flirting with the club he once sought to outwit, the club against which he tried to prove that an underdog could triumph in the face of adversity and financial restraint (by comparison). He's a sell out, he'll get used, he'll get abused and his love for us will never have been greater, as what he already knows comes back haunting him as a stinging reminder, that we're all heart & soul... a never fading, never dying institution. They're just a boys toy, one that's easily discarded and carries no sentimental or devotional value.
I can't wait for us to twat them at home.
Summary: he might do well there because he's got a good side and he's good at tactical organisation but he hasn't got a chance of succeeding.
Pretty much Pete. If Di Matteo can win the CL, get roundly applauded for it and then have the rug pulled from him a few months later while them cunts look over him laughing and ridiculing the same win as a 'fluke', well he doesn't stand a chance.
Well it was a fluke to some extent mate, they could play that game (last 3 games) another 100 times playing the way they did, and not win one of them :s
Have you told the in laws yet that Rafa is just using Chelsea as a stepping stone to get back to Liverpool ?If he is asked about the ghost goal i'll love it
Its great being one of the few who already despised Rafa. This is grist to the mill.
I hate him. I hate that club. I fucking love that their fans hate him.
Im fucking giddy i really am.
I hope they never win a game again.
You could say that about us. I don't agree, they had to win games to get there, they might have rode their luck, but you make your own luck in these games.
Its fucking great.I can't wait to hear his first press conference.
Time to update my Rafa hate thread:
And heres my thoughts from that thread.
Nothing has changed:
I hate Rafa benitez. Really REALLY hate him.
I dont like anything about him. From the way he conducts himself in the media to the way he sets out his teams and the way he makes substitutions.
I hate that he has spent 200m and we still are shit unless our best player (who he inherited) plays out of his skin. I hate the fact he bought Gonzales and Bellamy and Morientes and Crouch and then complained that he never has any money to spend.
I hate his notepad and his shitty little pen.
I hate his horrible pre-determined substitutions.
I hate the timing of them.
I hate his endless squad rotation.
I hate the fact that he drops players who are playing well and offers no incentive to any of our squad to bother playing into form (NB-This does of course not include Dirk Kuyt)
I hate the fact that he will play two defensive midfielders (or deep lying ones if you want to be a pedant) in every single away game, even if it is against Fulham, Stoke or Wigan.
I hate his constant sniping at Manchester united that constantly makes him look like a huge fucking tongued dribbling moron.
I hate the way he conducts his business in the press, and that he believes it is a right and proper thing to do.
I hate the way he uses players to get his own way.
I hate the way he treats players as pieces of meat and has no fucking clue about how to actually deal with human fucking beings.
I hate the way he uses the same wank soundbites when we lose 'Its clear we are thinking only about the next game'
I hate his inflexibility.
I hate his snide attitude
I hate the football he has us play.
I hate the fact he will stubbornly refuse to give players a chance when other players are constantly given sooo much leeway to do what they want on the pitch without any sign of them being hooked.
I hate the way he hasnt identified yet that we need a right winger.
I hate the way he has refused to bring any youth players through.
I hate the way he has treated some legends at our club, and some none legends too.
I hate the fact we didnt get to say goodbye to good pros.
I hate the way he sold players and didnt replace them with any better quality.
Mostly i just hate the way he will not accept that he cant do everything his way, and that the premier league takes some winning. He just doesnt seem to acknowledge that the other team will have any say so in the outcome of a match.
I hate the way he has made me feel about my club, and how he has at times made me cringe and be embarrased to tell the people who are laughing at me to fuck off.
The things he has done regarding Keane have made me absolutely disgusted with him.
Theres more to our club than winning and losing games, there is history and family and tradition and pride and respect. We could win all the games and trophies in the world and yet we will never be winners.
I hate the fact hes gone to that fucking plazzy shite club.
I hate the fact that Corby shopping centre wont have a Santa this year.
Id hate him if he saved my kid from drowning. Hes a fucking jeb.Did you hate him after Istanbul?
Not always his biggest fan but this is a woeful post unless its meant to be tongue in cheek?
That said hope he fails at Chavs, still can't get my head round people wishing him well.
The thing is, we desperately want Guardiola. Until that comes off or is off the agenda then no other manager is really going to be given a chance.
I think its more a stepping stone to madrid myselfHave you told the in laws yet that Rafa is just using Chelsea as a stepping stone to get back to Liverpool ?
The only sad thing is that Drogba isn't there anymore. I'd loved to see how he would have done on the right wing.
