Rafa confirmed as new Chelsea boss

He appears to have been paying for a whole team of assistants and analysts and specialists since he left Milan, so maybe he needed a bit of a 'top-up' now. It must be an odd sort of life being a Benitez employee whilst he just waits for the right project.
I wonder if they get to simply sit at home and watch some games and give him a little report once a month, or whether they have to all constantly travel around to matches, do analysis, talk to tech companies about new analysis software and tech, analyse that meeting, send said analysis back to Rafa for his analysis, etc, etc.

I thought the general consensus on here was move the fuck on Rafa. Now he's moved on and theres a 23 page post about it.

I just hope we have another situation soon where there's a debate to be had about whether the trophies that the manager won, and the success that the team enjoyed under him, is really success or not, because we've been without the enjoyment of that argument since he's been gone.

I have a lot of respect for Rafa while being aware of his faults. I want him to be successful, but don't want Chelsea to be successful. I would like for Chelsea fans to be proven wrong, but I reiterate, I don't want them to have success. It's all very complicated, until I realize it isn't and that you can have conflicting motivations. I am large and I have multitudes.

I love you Fark.

An excellent conclusion to the discussion. Time to close the thread.

Haha!

Will the bookies start taking bets tomorrow about him lasting until Christmas then?!

You must really hate Ross.

Ross is a legend on this site - everyone is entitled to their view LeTallecWiz. As you are aware I think Downing is a very technically gifted player - but 99.9% of the people on this site think he is a dick.

Well that's one thing you have in common with him then.

Hopefully they sack him in January and we get him to replace Brendan. I can't believe I just said that.
I'm only whispering it, but I'd like to see that too. Brendan seems like a decent bloke and definitely has will to win etc but given a choice between him and Rafa...
God football is too confusing these days.
Liverpool are like a once gorgeous girlfriend who cheats on you repeatedly, but you keep taking them back.

we can't fire him but was he the right person to hire in the first place ?

Sure we can fire him. After all, when you start a project with a raft, if you don't have a speedboat in 6 months, time to move on ...

well did we have to start with a raft ? I mean lets call a spade a spade , have we ever given the job to a manager who's done less in the game ? Hey here's hoping it works out but if it doesn't it won't be too much of a surprise .

What happens when you have a couple of dweebs like Henry and Werner running your club.

Neither Shanks nor Paisley had Rodgers' experience when they were appointed. He's been coaching for two decades and has been a successful manager both at lower levels and in the Prem.
