Phew, they really put some pressure on us in the last 10 or so, and Alisson had one to forget today. A couple of calamitous moments. We had a number of breaks that we squandered at the other end too. Sloppy today, but we'll have the points.

Clumsy last 10 or so by us. Robbo just held on. Midfield ran out of steam. Villa did well, but pressure told in the end. Villa not bad, needs money spent, something for Stevie to work with but the squad isn't strong enough to challenge. If he gets a decent budget he might be able to push for top 6 but spirit alone won't cut it. But good luck Mr. Gerrard.

The thing is teams like Chelsea, Villa and Arsenal, who've spent hundreds of millions, are far better than the kind of "let's nick one on the counter" football they've played against us. At least Villa tried to play in the last 10 minutes, but the preceding 80 minutes of them wasting time from the first whistle was awful.

I think they have some excellent players. Watkins, Ings, McGinn, Martinez, are all players with plenty of quality, and I know he hasn't settled quite yet but Buendia has the tools and vision to be a top player too.

Ref....seen worse. Think he got all three pen shouts right. We stuttered a bit. The Ox thing didn't work, asking him to play there was a bit much TBH...so I wouldn't call The ox over it. Mo misfired a bit but drew the pen out of Mings and put it away.
