On to the next one. A chance to continue our 100% record.

Thiago out. Hendo late fitness test. Gomez fit again. I expect usual back 5 and usual front three with three of Fabinho, Naby, Gini & Hendo in the middle.

-------------Alisson------------
Trent--Gomez--VVD--Robbo
-------------Fabinho-----------
-------Naby-------Gini---------
Salah-------Bobby------Mane

Too soon after the LC to see Jota or Minamino come in, which I expect to see more when games pile up and we want to rest the front three a bit.

I think Hendo is fit ... He'll play minimum 45 minutes

I think Brizzle has it.

They’re shit. I hope Barkley plays because he’s shit with a shit hair cut.

6-0 win for us. Salah with 4 and Manè 2.

I love how a team with a 100% record so far are shite.

They’ve started well and it took late Robbo and late late Mane magic to beat them there last year.

we’ll have to be sharp.

Keita needs to start.

Back 5 picks itself.

Keita, Fabinho and Wini in midfield. Hendo can come on in 2nd half if fit.

Jota, Salah and Firmino up front.

Need big games from Salah and Firmino.

It feels fantastic being able to bring Jota in, instead of having to bring in fucking Origi.

Origi is dumb to bring in where jota has played, but he need not be played there. If we continue playing him on the left, it's him we should have sold.

Origi has to go down the middle if he plays.

Or, play Salah & Origi as a two up front in some games, I'd fucking love to see that, with our fullbacks, & Thiago in the side with that range of passing from deep it could decimate a low block.

Good thing we're selling everyone else. Well done Michael Edwards, bow bow, fawn fawn, another masterstroke!

Even without jota we have minamino, and behind that Elliot, or Wilson (really don't want origi wide).

I get the fact selling depth is irritating, but i don't think we're selling players without klopp agreeing to it. Getting decent money for our unwanted and unused is worth praise.

Let’s take this specific situation as an example. Mane is out and Shaqiri happens to be fit - so would he slot in Mane’s place under normal circumstances (if he wasn’t being sold)? No, because he can’t play on the left and you can’t move Salah there either. Jota is definitely in front of him in the pecking order to replace Mane, so is Minamino who can at least play on the left. Then there is Origi and finally Jones - 3 or even 4 players ahead of Shaq in Klopp’s thinking in exactly the kind of situation that’s supposed to justify keeping him. Oh, and I forgot Ox too - make that 4 or 5. It’s no mystery why he’s been sold.

Elliott and Wilson. Woo-hoo. Elliott doesn't even get used in a crap league cup game. Not even a few minutes as a sub. How is he going to play a genuinely useful role this season? As for Wilson, he's lost the plot entirely. So without Jota and the much-praised Minamino (still 'bedding in' after about 10 months), we've got nothing.

Now answer Rurik's post just above?

Maybe once he answers my post asking why he was bought in the first place. Oh, yes, and don't tell me what to do, you daft little tit.
Haha very touchy today - and I guess you missed the question mark. He has pretty much addressed all your concerns re. who covers who.

I think the issue is he doesn't like who we have as cover.

Personally, jota and minamino are good enough for me, and if we need to rotate all 3 forwards then origi can do a job.

If injury crisis was going on midfield, then he probably might not get a game still, as surely our first choice backup 3 to our first choice would be hendo, Jones and keita (if we usually start fab, thiago and gini).
Ox can come in probably ahead of shaq, midfield or wing.

For me, this seems like fury over losing Brewster, who macca has long since nailed his support for (and I get frustration over that one), as well as losing shaq (who's not even gone yet). One hasn't played in the league for us, and the other had a very small impression on our league run.

I'm annoyed, but for his level of annoyance, Im surprised.

I have bit my tongue so much I'm bleeding.

Also Shaq was a moneyball signing... 13m for a talented international footballer with one flaw to his game. If Klopp could have fixed that, it would have been glorious. We may turn a profit on a failed experiment who did contribute.... its pretty good business.
