Mind as well since the discussion is starting to take place in other threads.

I think Klopp is going to go with this line up:

Becker

TAA
Matip

Robbo

Hendo
Milner
Wijnaldum

Firmino
 
I think he’s realising that he needs one of Naby or Shaq in that middle 3, i expect one of those in. Below is what i expect:

Hendo——Fabs
——-Keita——-
 
The worst part here is, if we dont qualify then its EL footy and Thurs - Sunday games after Christmas.
What will that do to our league form?
If we make it to the final then thats 8 games from Feb to May.

But, we can worry about that on Tuesday night.
 
I’m getting quite excited at the prospect of Naby’s first goal being a worldie vs DDG. Also of another TAA free kick. Free kicks vs United are strong in our history.

Both started our last 2 matches though, haven't they?

I think Henderson is certain to start with either Fabinho or Wijnaldum next to him, possibly both.
Milner to sit this one out and stay fresh for the weekend

Fabinho will be rested for Utd IMO. I'd have Shaqiri behind the front 3

I've never understood why it should make any difference playing wednesday and then saturday or thursday and then sunday. Its the same amount of days. Ok admittedly its one extra if you play tuesday and then saturday. But really it shouldn't mess up your league form. Hasn't affected arsenal at all.

It might not, its just there are 2 more games (starts at last 32) and in the past the Thursday - Sunday games havent quite worked for us.
 
The thing is, we wouldn't give three fucks about the Europa, so we would definitely use the margins of the squad much more, at least until the last reaches of the competition. It would take less out of us than CL footy.

In the early stages of the competition its not such a big deal however as th3 competition goes on it gets more difficult. There are also 2 other problems, 1 there tends to be more travel involved to eastern Europe so its much more disruptive than flying to Paris or Munich. 2 the CL gives you a minimum of 2 days rest between Weds/Sat games but as much as 4 days between Tues/Sun turn arounds. EL gives at lost a 2 day break, that extra recovery time is vital.

This is partly my thinking. I also think we would be much more likely to recall players like Wilson or Grujic to take up roles in those games too.
 
So what do we reckon?
We are good at the back but can we really stop them scoring so 1-0 would be enough?
Tough one. Either way it's going to be quite a night.

It all depends on whether whoever is alongside VVD performs well, I guess. Both Matip and Lovren are unpredictable and the front three are only just finding their feet again. If they perform then anything is possible, if they don't, we're relying on players at the back not cocking up.
 
We probably will win, but I also wouldn't be too arsed if we crashed out of Europe all together. I want the title this year and not being in Europe would really help us with that.

Dont wanna go into the Europa though. Which will happen if we dont get through tonight.

Im nervous as fuck. So nervous that I think I'll have to have about 6 pints before I go the match.

If we have to play in the Europa then we need to play a shadow squad, leave all the first team at home, and write the whole thing off. We need silverware, but concentrating on the FA Cup would be preferable to all of those Thursday night travails. This season, after working so hard to stay at the top in the league, we simply can't afford to risk being distracted and fatigued by such a draining sequence of travel and ties.
