They were warned/advised to get to the ground well before kick off though so they can't put all the blame on LFC.

Also maybe if they stopped(not just their fans) bringing flares and/or smoke bombs into Football Stadiums, their wouldn't be any need for all the searches.

Cry me a river.

So if you get the ground half an hour before kick off, would you expect to be in for the start of the match? Of course you fucking would.

And gary mate, you clearly haven't been away with Liverpool fans as we were the ones who started the pyros coming back. It's a scouse thing, not an Everton thing. So I'm sorry but what you've said above is a load of shite.

No pyro no party

Ok well look the other way... Why would the police tell the club to?

It doesn't make any sense whatsoever, whoever made the decision.

I'm sure we will find out soon enough mate.

Oh I agree, stupid decision by whoever made it. Even Merseyside police must be sensitive to what happened in the past.

Well fair enough, if you go 30mins before K.O, yeah you'd probably expect to be in your seat in time for the start of the game but even home fans are told to go that bit earlier this season due to more searches etc.

Actually, I have been away with Liverpool fans numerous time and the pyros have been flying about left, right, and centre...yes it's a good laugh and creates a bit of fun but ultimately they're dangerous(killjoy or not)...for example a lad at Newcastle when we went in October had burns on his legs from a flare being thrown. Then there was the steward at Villa who got hit by a flare when Spurs went there.

I'm not saying it's solely down to Everton but they've used them before and you can understand Police/The Club taken the measures they did.

Ok fair enough mate, I just know that we are just as bad for using them as Everton, so to single them out is unfair in my opinion.

I might sound like I'm having a go at us here, I'm not trying to come across like that. But I know 2 people who were involved in this last night and both have said the same thing. Both were actually very scared during the ensuing crush and I just think if LFC have made any stupid decisions here, then they should have known better.

I concur

Ultimately, it's our fault if enough of the turnstiles weren't open

Maybe LFC were preparing for the worst, thinking they were gonna bring shitload of pyros..especially with it being a night game. But yeah, it defo sounds like LFC could have managed the whole thing better and having just 2 turnstiles available sounds a bit fucked up alright.

Didn't mean to come across as a dick either...no harm done 😀

Problem is the police ALWAYS say to turn up early. Half an hour before kick off is early.

And yeah, no pyro no party, defo a scouse thing that started it.

A lot of the fans turned up at like 715 apparently. Its ridiculous to think you should be sitting in a cold ground for an hour just so they can only have 2 turnstiles open.

I hope we learn from this

Anyone else still a bit annoyed about Sturridge's penalty miss? Of course Stevie might have missed it, and of course Sturridge should have scored, but 5-0 nil just has a ring to it. Don't get me wrong, I'm still buzzing, amazing performance and result, but FIVE. I guess I'm like Suarez, always wanting more 😉

Yeah it is still a bit shit, i was more annoyed at the time than i should of been, if it got to 5 i reckon we would of got another 1 or 2 aswell, it could of been truly epic.

Exactly what I've been saying since. 5-0 just sounds so much more of a thumping.

Check this out, either a masterpiece in trolling or somebody that really does need help, suspect its the latter, just got to take a look at their threads involving us for plenty of evidence of this sheer deluded madness.

Bizarre title to this thread, i agree. But having mulled over the game for a solid day or so now, and thought about the result in a every angle imaginable, i've finally come to the conclusion that losing 4 nil to them ********s is actually exactly what we needed! In fact, i'd like to thank Liverpool FC for inspiring us to finish in 4th place this season and in doing so claim a spot in the European Champions League, and here's why.

Going back to the Arsenal game, the match which really made people stand up and take notice, the match which made pundits actually believe Everton are worthy of Champions League football, we were superb on the day. It proved that we really do have a manager and players 100% capable of finishing Everton top of the league, as isn't that exactly what Arsenal are? They didn't play bad. We were just awesome. And we most certainly at least matched them on that day!!! We had become potential title contenders!!

Now, since that game if we look at our performances, the only word which springs to mind is COMPLACENCY! Yes, we beat Fulham 4-1, but not only are they worse than awful, they actually gave us a scare and could easily have gotten back into it. Why? COMPLACENCY! We then went off as cocky as anything, in our last game to complete an entire year without a home defeat, and we lose to the team bottom of the premiership. Again, not because of a lack of quality, but due to utter complacency. We beat Swansea, Southampton and Norwich with, lets face it, less than dazzling performances (not bad, but not great), while we barely managed a last minute draw against a Stoke side that "the pool" smashed 5 past. Moreover, we drew against West Brom in a game in which we looked totally awesome in the first half but then conceded poorly again thanks to a second half display which once again exuded total and utter complacency!

Now, last night. The night which made all us blues suffer an acute dose of severe depression. The reason we lost?... A GIGANTIC FOOTBALLING BIOFILM FILLED WITH ABSOLUTE COMPLACENCY!!!... We went out there wearing boots that were clearly several sizes too small for us, we jogged and pranced about, and we conceded 4 goals which could easily have been more against the ONE TEAM we really can't deal with being beaten by, especially beaten BAD by.

The implications of such a defeat on our fans', our players' and our manager's psyche against any other team would have some effect of course, but losing to Liverpool like that will stay with us until the very moment we exact our revenge! Before every game we play now until the end of this season, we will remember. We will not forget! COMPLACENCY AND EVERTON WILL NO LONGER COINCIDE! We will go into every game now knowing the only way we can get our vengeance, is by finishing ahead of those <insert expletive here> in the league. And then we will finish ahead of them again, and again, AND AGAIN until losing 4 nil last night becomes a long and distant memory that we will all look back on fondly as the game that kicked us up the ass and drove us on to glory!!!

I feel bad for Villa. I feel bad for any team that has to play us between now and the end of the season. Because as of today Everton are back!!!

Everton lost 5 nil to Liverpool at Goodison Park in 1982. History has a tendency to repeat itself. Look how Everton got on in the 80s after that. Everton wanted vengeance then and by God we will want vengeance now.

So i'll say one last time, thank you Liverpool FC for now ridding us of that one thing that was holding us back.. complacency! You have unleashed the Everton revenge seeking beast! And we will get it! We will finish ahead you and we will one day in the not so distant future win that one trophy you just wish you could your hands on. Give us a few years with this manager and this core group of players and we will win the premiership before you. Oh yes, revenge will be sweet! And you only have yourselves to blame!

COME ON YOU BLUE BOYS!!!

He scores the pen and stays on the pitch. Maybe gets another.

And We also have a new song...

"Studge scored one, Studge scored two, Studge scored there and Studge scored four, na na na na na na na na naaaaa"

Robbie Savage:
[article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/robbie-savage-column-liverpools-luis-3095235#ixzz2rx60E07v ]What did we learn from Tuesday night's Merseyside derby? Although it was disappointingly one-sided, three things struck me.

First, in the race for fourth place, it’s advantage Liverpool. Big time.

Second, as good as Everton’s first-choice XI may be, the supporting cast will struggle to live in world-class company.

I’ve had to swallow a lot of humble pie served up by Evertonians reminding me that I tipped West Ham to finish above them this season, but if they were watching the same game I was on Tuesday, they will agree with me on this.

Roberto Martinez has done well in the transfer market, especially with loan signings, but he needs to spend upwards of £50million if he is going to compete with the richest clubs and muscle in on that top four.

And thirdly, if there is a more influential player in the world right now than Luis Suarez, I haven’t seen him.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi may have a bigger repertoire and a larger price tag, but they are surrounded by top, top players at their clubs.

Suarez is bringing the best out of everyone around him through the sheer force of his personality.

And I learned something about him when he raced clear to score Liverpool’s fourth goal – he is quicker than I thought.

The way he ran half the length of the pitch with the ball at his feet and saw off Phil Jagielka - who is no slouch - was mighty impressive.

On current form and influence, I rate Suarez the world’s best player.

Savage has quietly got tons better as a pundit/columnist over the last year or so. While he still has an idiotic comment or two in him, he is generally in the ballpark more often than not now.

Never had a problem with Savage, he is a decent pundit, tbh hes one of the better ones when you look around at all the other pundits, he doesn't sit on the fence and is not afraid to say it how he sees it no matter how unpopular his opinion might be, even as a footballer his personality and playing style never bothered me, he made the best of what he had which wasn't much.
