Poor Benteke

What has that got to do with anything I've said? I said that I don't see what he has done wrong with benteke? He doesn't suit our style of play so klopp doesn't pick him. Where did I say he was infallible?

Every manager buys duds so I don't see your point.

You said Klopp differs from Rodgers in that he only buys players that fit his system. So that actually makes his transfer failings worse.

He only buys players that fits a strict system that he himself defined with his team, and yet after five years perfecting that, his last two signings to play up front for Dortmund were both utter shite because the season was a disaster and they scored about six goals between them.

Immobile was entirely the wrong sort of striker, so actually Klopp's most expensive signing was entirely a disaster who did not at all fit his system. So that's not really valid.

And like I said every manager buys a dud and immobile was a dud for klopp. He thought he would fit his system....he got it wrong. But this still has nothing to do with benteke. I guess klopp learnt from immobile and doesn't want benteke.

Maybe there is cautionary tale there-- the most expensive players aren't always the best and clubs (and managers) trying to buy their way out of a crisis are likely to come a cropper. I know we certainly have with our most expensive signings who sparkled at lesser clubs but crashed and burned under the pressure of expectation at Anfield.

Errr, I'm extremely pro-Klopp (I was the first to reply to Hansern's wonderful Klopp article this morning, for instance), like I was pro-Rodgers and like I was pro-Kenny. I'm not some dickhead who turns on the next manager because I liked the previous one, but I'm not going lap up everything Klopp does either like some blind superfan. He's made mistakes like every other manager in the game.

So don't tar we with that fucking brush. There is no agenda, a few people called Benteke shit and said it's all his fault he's where he is, which isn't true. That's the only point I made, but it seems some fucking idiots don't know how to read.

Hang on, Mark. As far as I can see, in a rather anti Benteke thread, only one person has called him out right shit. I could understand another one of your whiny menstrual bitch rants if everyone was doing it, but that simply isn't the case.

Youre coming across as a total dick.

Nothing new to see here folks.

Yeah, thanks for jumping into this argument and basically doing what others have done and missed the point. There are plenty of people who've called him shit, here and in other threads - Sheikh, Skully, Sean, Jono.. you earlier in this thread. I'm not sure what the barometer is, but I said a few people called him shit, that's errrr, a few people. But I'm being a dick? Sound.

But, according to the stories bandied around - obviously changed to try and suit 'known facts' and 'personal agenda' - he was interested in Benteke, but for 'playing style' reasons (or more likely financial ones) declined to sign him, and instead signed an even worse player who was even less suited to his playing style, in Immobile.

So I'm not really sure what the actual point is. He has a clearly defined playing style - unlike Brendan Rodgers - so would never have signed Benteke if it was his decision, but actually signed an even worse player instead?

Great!

As soon as everyone acknowledges an expensive marque 'world class' player from another club or country does NOT guarantee the same performance at Liverpool the better.

It'll stop the baying sheep moaning about not chasing after expensive signings.

Sheep don't bay. And, more importantly, we DO need to chase expensive signings, because the best players are often expensive.

Yes, because the most expensive players are not always the best. As Liverpool can well attest.

No, that's not what I said. But anyone who thinks we can win titles without actually spending huge amounts of money to secure some of the best players available is mental.

Of course, I'm sure some people will assume Klopp can repeat his Dortmund feats and buy the next Lewandowski for 4m, and create a title-winning side for 50m or whatever., but sadly, that's not going to happen.

He needs to be given at least 100m to spend on the squad, and within that at least Two 20-35m players. At LEAST.
