that's like that comedy title that was given to heskey, 'the best defensive striker in the league' it's good when a striker contributes in other areas but their primary job is to score goals just like a Center back's primary job is to prevent goals.

Skrtel has scored 1 goal for Liverpool though hasn't he? So that is not exactly 'chipping in with goals' like you say defenders should all do - which incidently is the sort of argument that you normally get from idiots. Most people realise that a defender's job is to defend and as long as the goals go in from other players then it doesn't matter a great deal if defenders don't score very often.
What was your opinion of Rob Jones or Stephane Henchoz? Have you heard of them? They were pretty decent defenders yet didn't get a goal between them - so were they worse than Abel Xavier and Phil Babb?
How about Steve Finnan? Only the one goal, so I guess pretty shit in your book then?
