I think he lost all of his confidence when Riera sparked him.
we should have kept riera. He could be great motivation for our youth team

"play well or riera will be knockin on your door"

I agree.

You know what i think the first time i knew i loved Rafa, was when i heard about him asking Carra to start fights in the dressing room with players who were fucking up/not trying enough.

We'd of won the league if Carra hadn't pussied out

another reason rawk hates him then

I feel part of the problem with Pacheco is that he is a square peg and we can only offer him a round hole to fit in(not that kinda hole!). He would be good for some tippy tappy team but it's hard to fit him into our team at the moment.

Mihaylov: Reina wants to leave
March 30, 2011

Bulgaria international Mihaylov, 22, was signed by the Reds in 2007 and loaned out to FC Twente in a bid to secure a work permit.

He has since joined Twente on a permanent deal but, as he has now become a regular for his country, he has claimed Liverpool retain an option to take him back to Anfield.

"Liverpool are a huge club," he told Darik Radio. "It wasn't possible to get a work visa when I went there but now there'll be no such problems because I'm playing regularly in the national team."

Asked about Liverpool's option to re-sign him, Mihaylov said: "I think it's absolutely real. The option was made when Rafa Benitez was in charge."

Mihaylov believes Liverpool will be in need of a new goalkeeper in the near future as Reina has a desire to return to his home country.

"I know from my agent Pepe Reina wants to go back to Spain," he said. "His desire dates back one or two years.

"It's not difficult to see this. I know him well - he's one of the best 'keepers in the world but his current form is not as it should be in a club like Liverpool.

That Bulgarian fucker should shut his trap.

I hope we sell him to someone in Italy.

The Mafia would be ideal.

Was that not Ged who suggested Carra do that?

I'll make some calls.

Not that i'm aware of mate.

I can remember reading in Carra's book (i think) about how Rafa called him in to his office and then started telling him how the Argies at Valencia would start a fight in the dressing room if they thought certain players were not putting it in. He suggested that Carra should do the same, but Jamie refused.

Aaah maybe. Pelegrino used to fight himself in the tunnel, the fool.

Amd there should be no chance we'll sell him to United, Chelsea, City, Spurs..
We won't have a choice. Allegedly.

This thread started with a quote from "The Star," a publication which hardly merits the name of newspaper, and has been kept simmering with a second-hand quote from the agent of some Bulgarian goalkeeper who may have been reading "The Star."

Let's wait until we have something more specific before we start hating Pepe! 😉

He shouldn't have said that "Never say never" bollocks, re: going to Scumchester.

Yep - if he stays this summer and signs a new contract then I'll forgive him.

Until then, I'll have no affection for him whatsoever.

Anyone know how Buffon's form has been in recent times, apparently he's available on a freebie this summer!

He's still "only" 33 and if Pepe leaves and we were to get Buffon (who should have at least another 4 seasons left in him) it would leave Pepe's fee available for a top DM.

Buffon's a top keeper, but he's also Italian and I'm not at all sure I want to sign another Italian player. I think I'd need a stronger guarantee that he really wanted to come than anybody could reasonably provide.

Yeah the Italians don't travel well. They want to be home in Serie A, the best Italian league in the world, and close to Mama...(couldn't resist)

Can't see why we would appeal to Buffon unless we offer massive wages, but if he's still got it, it could be an option I guess.

According to decent sources on Twatter. Pepe has started 2nd stage contract negotiations. He and his agent had preliminary meetings in february, but now negotiations have gone to 2nd stage with Comolli.
If true, great news.

Anyone heard anything?

I'm still disgusted by his United comments, but we're hardly in a position to tell him to fuck off.

He's too good and I'm sure I'll like him soon again -but I'm left confused as to why he felt the the need to tarnish his impeccable relationship with the fans.
