You don't slag someone off publicly unless you have good reason to.
Oh wait, maybe they knew Mario personally better than most of us do, to warrant that public barracking. Maybe for a fair few, Mario was really pushing it and becoming a tad too 'mischievous' - an understatement really, even for Mario's standards. Or maybe...(horror) he really has been a lazy bum during training for like foreverrrrrr......something most of didnt know alreadyyyyyy !!!
I mean, what were the likes of Mourinho, Mancini, Prandelli thinking when they all complained their fair share of problems of managing Mario, whose talent clearly can only be coaxed out with love and affection, right ? Right ?
And oh btw, for all the sudden Mario supporters, remember the very attentive-to-detail Mourinho who once accused Balotelli of showing a lack of effort in training, stating that 'as far as i'm concerned, a young boy like him cannot allow himself to train less than people like Figo, Cordoba and Zanetti'. Or how about the times when he pissed off his Inter teammates in Zanetti and Materrazzi (guess what, senior figures in Inter like Stevie G is for Liverpool) who also questioned his suspect attitude. But oh, what do they know right ? We know better.
Call it for what it is and stop being pansies. If Mario plays well, well done. If he acts a d*ck, he deserves the ribbing. And oh btw, in case anyone goes all hyper-tripping again, i thought it was a fairly gentle ribbing to be honest. It was like both captain and manager wanted to slap his face real hard but gave him a soft girly one instead.
There is a code of ethics and discipline in any team and if he thinks he's above the law, screw him. Top penalty-taker or not.
